I wanted to post an update on how Penny is doing! We are 7 weeks post-op (it feels like a lot longer than that!!) and she seems to be doing well! I would say she is about 85%. She is running and playing and getting back to her normal behavior. She hardly wobbles at all now when she walks! I talked with her surgeon on Friday about further drug tapering and she is now having us give Penny the prednisone and immune suppressent every other day. So we will do this for two weeks and then have another call with the Dr. She had her CBC about a week ago to make that the last round of immune suppressant injections didn't lower her white blood cell count - everything was fine. So my guess is that over the next month and a half we will be getting off the drugs all together and see if her immune system remains normal :xfinger:. Thanks for all the rays and good thoughts!
That is wonderful news! I was thinking about her this weekend and wondering how she is doing.
It’s the best feeling to see them getting better isn’t it? :hello2:
