Title: Not fit for man nor beast
Post by: MindyKay on February 07, 2007, 07:30:43 AM
I think Ozzy has had enough of the cold weather here in Iowa.  This morning, he did not want to get out of his bed.

He runs around and plays in the snow to some degree, but after a few seconds, realizes it's cold, does his business, then runs to the door.

If weather forecasts are correct, we have three more days of cold, then the temperatures will rise to the balmy 20's.

I don't blame Ozzy- I wouldn't want to get out of bed either. Brrr...
That snow must be so cold on their bellies! Does he wear little shoes or a sweater when he goes out?

LOL - I have been having a tough time getting Brandy out too!!!!   She will stay in bed until Rudy and I are ready to walk in the mornings, I will carry her out to the front and she will scurry quickly back to the big bed !!!!  Rudy and I have gone several times without her - on the way back, I can hear her barking.....but she is still in the big bed !!!!

Hang in there Ozzy - it will get warmer !

yeah - my 2 are burrowing deep into the covers right now!  Of course anytime the sun is out, they are laying out in it - no matter the temperature!

We agree it is toooooo coldddd!!!!!!
Zack and Zena rush out and go and come right back in and crawl under the covers.  A couple of times we had to carry Zack back in cause he froze up and couldn't walk.  You would think he would forget about finding the right spot when it is below 0!!!!!

No, I don't put a sweater, nor shoes on Ozzy.  Hubby has this "thing" about putting clothes on dogs.

I'm so glad to hear that other dogs "freeze up" in the cold.  Ozzy will run around looking for just the right spot, then he will start doing this thing with his back feet.  He will lift one foot up almost 90 degrees to the side, then he will scurry to the door, sometimes hesitating to go up the steps because his feet are so cold.

We are under a wind chill advisory today, but it should start getting warmer this weekend.  I sure hope so!
