Is something wrong with the chat room?. I couldn't get in Saturday night using either the link from here or MIRC. This morning it says there are problems and won't activate.

I tried this morning and got into chat fine...I wonder if it was a temporary problem or just was being finicky for you Rich :BangHead:
Here's the message I got. My provider is earthlink so I guess everyone from earthlink has been banned. Nice. I guess I won't be back to the chat room anymore.

This chat site is not allowing you to access because of a Server Ban that has been placed. This may or may not be intended to affect you personally; it may be intended to keep someone else from your same Internet Service Provider Company from accessing this site.
Looks like the chat host company has placed a pretty broad ban... Drew is going to try and get FlashChat up and running. You won't be able to use mIRC anymore, but there will be no blocks.
Still banned. If anyone is in chat tonight, I'm there in spirit. Grrrrrrrrrr.
I just tried chat .... got in ok ... but no one else was there.
I have installed a new chat system hat you are all welcome to test out, push the buttons, twist the knobs, etc...
I have not moved it in place of the old system just yet as there is still some tweaking to be done, but it is usable and I'm sure Rich will appreciate that. :grin:

Like the current system you should be automatically logged in. Let Kari or I know if you have any trouble. :thumb: Once I get the color/display tweaked and a few other loose ends I'll move this new chat system in place of the old one. One down side to the new system is that it is not based on IRC like the current system, so unfortunately it will not be accessible via mIRC or other IRC client software. :dontknow:
P.S. For those that do not have Adobe (Macromedia) Flash installed or would prefer not to install it I will be switching the interface over to a strictly HTML and AJAX interface so it will require nothing more than your web browser and no plug-ins. :thumb:
I just told Drew that I am having problems getting into the new software ( get a screen telling me I am banned and asks for a username and password). He wanted me to check and see if anyone else has been able to click the link above and get in? PM me or just post a reply here! Thanks! :crazyeyes:
I got in this morning and saw Drew there, but he was evidently doing something else as I couldn't attract his attention. I just tried again and got right in.

I'm glad it worked for you. :hello2: He was at work this morning trying to figure out why I couldn't get in :doah: I just told him that you were able to get in and he said it was strange because on his side he didn't see anyone logged in.

As soon as I got in a few minutes ago I saw the message "drew has left the room" we must have just missed each other.
Like it a lot - I use another one set up like this. Any suggestions for what I should do to stay connected? With mIRC, I could stay on as long as I wanted, but the regular chat kicks me out about every 10 minutes - more frequently if I use smileys, and the new one is better - I first got "disconnected" after 2 hours, and then again in about 15 minutes - so that was an improvement!
Julia, the system should not be logging you out unless you do not type anything for over an hour. :doah: I'll have to take a look at the logs and see if this is something on the server side or if it is possibly a client (your browser) side issue. :dontknow:
Drew, would it be possible to point the chat button above to the new chat? Julia, Rich and I realized that this new version is difficult to find for any newbies that might want to join us at 6 pm PDT on a Saturday...
