Title: Food reccomendation
Post by: jillkilleen on January 18, 2007, 04:17:35 PM
Zelda has been diagnosed with chronic cirrosis.  She will have a boatload of meds and i need to put her on a LOW protien food.  We have been eating California Natural and have access to a great pet food store that has all the great holistic and specialty brands.

Thanks for all your rays, now that we know what we are dealing with we feel a little better although at this point is is maintaining and preventing not curing.  She is such a sweet girl.

Rays on the way for Zelda! I'm glad you were able to get a diagnosis. I don't have a good food recommendation but there are a number of people on the board that know a lot about food and I am sure you will get quite a bit of information. Did you vet reccomend anything?

they recomended hill's U/D  which I think from research is 8% protien.  But I've never heard good things about Hill's that's why i was hesitant.  Thanks for the rays, my baby girl eats them up like kisses!

:comfort: :comfort:  More Rays coming to you and Zelda from Ohio!! Winston and Zoe send smoochie kisses to Zelda and hope that she is feeling better.  I am sorry but I have not dealt with this so I don't have a recommendation for food for her.  I know others here will!!  Take care!

Wemhave been using hills R/d fo at least the past ten years and all of mine, Angels  and the two now have good health, beautiful coats.
Give it a go and see  if Zelda 's Health is with it,or ask them for another choice.
