These were the last pictures taken of Max, just 9 days before his passing.
He's doing what he loved...snoozing on the big bed. In his younger days, he looked just like Charlie does now in the guarding the ball picture. His clear red coat long gave way to the heavy interspersing of white fur. The big lump on his back is a giant lipoma, other lipomas can be seen just behind his rear leg. Luckily, all were benign.

The same time...taken from another angle. He looks like the epitome of dachshund contentment in this picture.

Oh David, what sweet pictures of Max. He was still quite a handsome doxie even with the gray hair. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us.

Thanks, David, for another look at our beloved friend. Max was a very special little boy, and we are so glad that we got to know him.
He looks very happy and well taken care of in those pictures. A very handsome little one. You are so lucky to have those wonderful pictures to look at.
Those are great pictures! Such a wonderful way to remember Max.
There are no words for these. What a long and blessed life Max had. I think he was if anything, even more handsome with the gray through his coat. He looks very wise. Gives me goosebumps.
Oh, Max, what a sweet and gentle soul you are.
Sweet handsome Max...... I love your distinguished coat and the sleeping pictures and the drifting off to sleep pictures always get to me. Smoochies Max-angel.
The picture of contentment, wrapped in a loving family. God Bless!
