Last night I got a call from a gal who was given my name from Dog and Puppy Rescue of Alaska. They had me listed as a Dachshund Rescue of North America person. So I directed her to the DRNA site so she could get started filling out an application, and I told her my story about Misty. She is going to email me today so I can help her as much as I can thru the process. We'll see what happens.
I LOVE hearing that Patty! Hopefully another needy dachsie will get a new forever home for the holidays! Let us know how it goes for her!
Thats great news !!!! Keep us posted when she gets her baby !

She does want a puppy, to give to her mom as a gift. I told her that the DRNA application is pretty extensive because they do want you to get what you want, so you are happy. So I told her to just be honest about exactly what she was after. Like me with Misty, I never dreamed I'd score a 5 month old silver dapple puppy. She was so adorable, how could anyone give her up. Misty's was a case where "her family just decided they didn't want her afterall." I think Misty was an impulse buy, her other family couldn't have had her for more than a couple months.
THEY were idiots....YOU were lucky....and Misty was the luckiest
That's great news :thumb:
That is so cool! Let us know what happens. Yes you did luck out with Misty. (and vice versa)
