Hi all dis is EmmyLou here, My momma gots a bwoken ankle over da weekend... She has ta go see da ortapedic suwgeon tomorrow ta see if she's gots ta have da sugewy and put a plate in her ankle... :doah: I jus can't bewieve dat she did dat, den we couldn't go and gets our pixtures done dis weekend... But, dat's ok, I am learning how to become a doctor!!!! :ambulance: :bandaid: I jus snuggle and snuggle wif my momma, den it looks like I hab a 'cuse ta be lazy.... WOOHOO!!!! I like ta lay right tween my momma's hurt leg and her good leg, so's dat da good leg don't hurt da bad leg any worse, and when it moves, I GROWL AT IT!!!! Momma sez I am a good doctor, whateber dat is :dontknow: Just wanted ta share our bad news, so pwease send some rays to my momma, so's dat we can go swedding and hab some pixtures done... Hi all, Yes it is true, my first broken bone.... LOL I think I would of been able to handle it alot better 10 years ago... Anyways, I slipped on some ice the other morning, and *poof* a broken ankle... I go see the orthapedic surgeon tomorrow to see if he wants to do surgery and put a plate in, or just cast it... I am hoping for just a cast.... Anyways, time to go lay down again... I don't like these pills, but when they help, what else do you do.... :dontknow:

Now one udder thing to member bought da bwoken mamas. When dey take da medicine dey can gets REALLY silly! Den dey gets really sweepy! It's a good time to gets extra tweats from yer daddy! Dat's what I do. He's always good fer an extra tweat or two.
What kinds of tweets do YOU gets? I lub da bacon tweets (dem is Toby-Man and Oscy's favorites to). Mama sez dat Buelah is picky wif her tweats....sometimes when she doesn't eat da tweat I FIND IT! I FIND IT ANDS I EATS IT!
I don't know bout you but I can be weally FAST when I want da tweat!
Did you pway in SNOW? I have nebber seen da SNOW! Mama sez it is cold and wet. We nebber gets any of dat SNOW where I live in Florida. Where do you live? I have two hoosissies who live in New York and it snows der and my hoobruder is in college to....it snows in New Hampshire where he is buts he is gonna come to MY house for Christmas!

So sorry to hear about your broken ankle! Ouch! Well, let us know what the doc says, and take it easy.
I'm so sorry about the broken ankle. I did the same thing about 2 1/2 years ago, only I was walking on the side of a slope and it was damp from the dew on the grass and fell that way. I managed to avoid having a plate put in since the break was fairly low on the tibia. The fibula was cracked, also and if it had been broken, then surgery may have been necessary. The worst part was the sprain that came from it. If they have to put a cast on it, see if they have the waterproof one. Most orthopods have them now and they are WONDERFUL!! It is lightweight and you can shower in it and everything. Also, it doesn't itch like the others. I was able to get by with only 3 weeks in a cast and then a splint, so hopefully you will do the same. I ended up having surgery 6 months later, but that was because one of the ligaments was stretched too much and didn't respond to physical therapy, partially because of a genetic condition I have that affects the connective tissue.
Emmylou-Thanks for being so good to your mamma. Just be sure you don't get in front of her when she trys to move around. You wouldn't want her to trip over you. Schatzi used to try to bite at my cast when I would get up to walk around!
Gee hope your Momma is keeping her bad leg up and uses allot of ice on it that sure helps with the pain too you do not want it to swell too much or they will not be able to do much for it until the swelling goes down.Hoping you just get away with having a cast on it bad time to have to go to the hospital.I'm sure you will be a great doctor for your Mom/
