Title: Hey Charlie......"Off Paw"
Post by: PattyInAK on November 30, 2006, 02:50:55 PM
Is that stuff working?  I am wondering how to keep my dogs from getting interested in our tree, too.  In our old house we had a small 4' tree that we put up on a table.  But here in our new, spacious house, we can put up our 7' tree, on the floor.  So far the dogs are leaving it alone, but we haven't put anything under it yet.  I, too, was thinking of a way to fence it off.  I think one of the shorter x-pens would do it, but it would look  :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: unless I decorated it too with lights and stuff.  Then the little darlings would probably mark it!  My solution, not just now at Christmas, but anytime, is to put them in their pen anytime we leave the house.  Sigh... :dontknow:

Errrrr Patty - we are waiting on some PICTURES of the inside and outside of your house!!!!!

Mine don't bother the tree - but I normally don't put gifts under until Christmas morning before my family comes over.   Last year though, Rudy did mark the tree skirt - so I am kinda concerned with what I will do this year.  Maybe this stuff works long term????  I will be waiting to hear !

I don't put up a tree at my house, but I get to put up 2 at my parent's.  Clifford likes to wandering under the tree to make sure there's nothing he might like to open (and he has done that!!!).  My aunt always wraps up a box of Christmas cookies for me and has learned to put that under the tree at the last minute.

So far mine are leaving the tree alone but nothing is underneath it yet.  Will put the skirt and some presents under it this weekend and see how the little darlings behave.

Oh, they sure know how to sniff out the goodies!

Patty,

I've had the play pen around the tree since getting it last Sunday.  However, before then, the "Off Paw" was working in keeping Charlie from wondering around underneath the tree.

The pups are at the kennel now as I'm headed to Philly tomorrow for the Army/Navy football game.  I took the play pen down when I got home tonight and will leave down all weekend to include SUN when I pick the pups back up.
