Zeke had been experiencing some periodic and random vomiting lately. We really didn't think too much about it, maybe he ate too much hair off one of his toys. Last night he vomited again. This morning, he refused his food, and vomited a few more times. Clearly, Zeke was definitely out-of-sorts and not feeling well. We've just taken him over to the vet for observation and treatment. Zeke doesn't scavenge, doesn't get leftovers and didn't chew up his toys recently, so I don't know what is causing this. I'm definitely a bit nervous because Rudy had similar symptoms before we ended up sending him to the Bridge.
Zora is totally freaked out that Zeke isn't around and is climbing all over Margie. I'm at work waiting for word from the vet. We will keep everyone posted.
We'll hope for the best for little Zeke. Hopefully, its just a touch of the flu. Let us know!
Rays to Zeke!
Sending mega rays from Oregon. I hope Zeke fills better very soon!
Major Rays coming Zeke's way! Please keep us updated! :comfort:

Oh no! I hope it's nothing serious. Rays and prayers are heading Zeke's way. Get better, Little Boy Blue!
Rays on the way. We will all be waiting on word..... Maybe his tummy is just upset with all the changes...... remember Cajsa had a lot of problems with her tummy. Please post as soon as you can.
Smoochies to Zeke and to Zora !
Rays on the way from Iowa. Here's hoping it's a little upset tummy!
Just got the vet report. They did blood work Zeke has an elevated Lipase count, which may be indicative of Pancreatitis. The vet seems to think that Zeke may be constipated or on the verge of constipation. They gave him fluids subcutaneously and want to observe him overnight, which we have agreed to. It sounds like he is going to be fine once we have him treated.
Zora is still clingy, but is not as freaked right now. We'll probably let her sleep in the big bed with us tonight.
Glad to hear that it is nothing super serious! Rays still headed his way!
I hope Zeke has a restful night and feels better tomorrow. Give Zora extra hugs and reassurance tonight!
Whew! My heart froze when I read your post. Sending LOADS of rays to Zeke.
Ha! Zora is going to be insufferable when Zeke gets back home. Can't ya just hear her? "I got to sleep in the big bed. Nah nah nah nah nah nah." ....with her cute li'l tail goin' a mile a minute.
6:30 PM
Zeke is doing well. He's passed urine, but hasn't pooped yet. He has stopped vomiting as well. He's going to be hunkered down for the night and we'll find out how he did tomorrow AM.
While Zora has been freaked, it certainly didn't affect her appetite as she snarfed up her food very quickly.
Glad Zeke is holding his own - I know he will be glad to get home tomorrow. Rays still coming for him ! Smoochies to Zora - lucky girl - THE BIG BED - Woo Hoo !
Rays on the way for Zeke and continued improvement! We are so glad he is doing better, and Zora is all dachsie - missing brother, but still scarfing up her food!
David,
Thank you so much for calling me and letting me know what was going on with Zeke. I had not checked the board today. I am sending major rays his way. This is completely out of the blue because he has no history of this. I offer any assistance you need to take of my little guy. Zora would love to sleep in the big bed...and you can be sure...she'll tell Zeke all about it!
Yamisi
I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, but sending rays from IL for a quck recovery for little Zeke.
Rays from Des Moines for Zeke. Hoping to hear that he makes it home tomorrow.
Had afeeling it was going to be that.
Roberta
ps hope you get some of the bed.............rays still coming
10:00 AM
Zeke had a quiet night. No vomiting. They are going to introduce fluids this morning and some food this afternoon. If all goes well, he'll be home by later today.
Thanks for the updates David. I hope Zeke continues to feel better so he can come home this afternoon.
1:30 PM
Zeke held down his water and his food. The only problem is that he hasn't pooped yet. They're going to take him out one more time to see if he poops, but if he doesn't they will need to give him an enema  Otherwise, he seems to be on schedule to come home tonight.
Zeke probably just doesn't like foreign toilets. :2funny: But, I'm sure the enema will do the trick if he can't go on his own. Its good to hear he kept his food and water down. I'm sure he will be real happy to get home.
A) Mega Rays coming for Zeke, what a trooper! Lets all hope its just a poopy thing! :ambulance:
B) Zora doesn't sleep in the big bed every night???????????????? LOL. Smootches to the worry wart from Wisconsin. Its all gonna be fine. We promise!
The one AND ONLY time Dolly took a bite out of me was when we thought she was constipated. The Vet stuck the thermometer up.....um....well, you know and she took a dislike to that right away. I was holding her and she snagged my thumb but good. Of course she was promptly apologetic..... :doah:
Hoping Zeke is feeling great the next time you post in.
Zeke is home and happy. They did have to give him the enema, though. We've got to keep him on a special diet for a few days and have him on medication until things get back to normal.
Glad he is home safe and sound - keep us posted ! Zeke - you should be getting LOTSA lovies !!! Zora too :thumb:
Wow, just catching up. I can't believe I missed this whole post! I'm glad to hear that Zeke is going to be ok. Yikes! An enema! Lots of kisses and belly rubs coming his and Zora's way! :comfort:
Zeke is pretty much back to normal. When I got in this morning (2:30 AM), we started hearing that "oil can" noise and thought that Zeke still had issues. I pulled the blankie off Zeke and he stared at me annoyingly. It turned out that Zora had to vomit. Not sure what that was all about, maybe sympathy vomiting? Zora is fine this morning and scarfed down her food as usual. Zeke even showed an interest in his prescription food.
Glad things are getting back to normal. Maybe Zora thinks she will get special food, too, if she does what Zeke did. I'm glad she's okay today. Hopefully it will be a non-eventful weekend for everyone!
I am just now reading this, but I hope things are getting better everyday... Hugs to Zeke & Zora... And, Emmy sends puppy kisses... :comfort:
Just read this post David! I'm so glad to hear that your boy is back to feeling good. They sure do know how to worry us don't they? :doah:
