I feed Ozzy right after Roger and I eat, to keep his place in the "Pack." After he has eaten, Ozzy will roll over on his back for a good scratch, and he gets into the funniest positions! Sometimes I wonder if that is good for his back, but apparently it doesn't bother him at all. Then, he will sit up, usually with one ear bent back and look at me as if to say, "I'm full, happy, and in about 10 minutes, you're going to be taking me outside!"
Does anyone else's doxie have a post-meal ritual?
Ozzy - how cute !!!
The only thing I can think of is that as soon as Rudy and Brandy have cleaned their bowls, they immediatly position themselves in front of the counter where the treats are kept - waiting for "dessert" and if I don't move fast enough - Mr. Impatient - Rudy lets me know !!!
LOL LOL the vision of Ozzy is just too cute. Could these little guys be any more precious!! And I am covering Hallie's eyes....DESSERT?? Don't need to get that notion into her little head LOL.
Hallie's post meal ritual is to race into the living room, pick out a "baby" (only one will do out of the 100+ she has in here) and squeek squeek squeek it, with her butt in the air and her eyes on me inviting me to play with her. Which I of course do, then she rubs her head on the carpet over and over and then we both go to her window so she can show me all the things she is protecting us from.
My favorite though is when I let her out to potty in the morning, then I get on the computer. When she is done she comes racing into the house, up to my chair with tail wagging, I have her fuzzy blanket ready and wrap her in it and scoop her up and baby talk her for a few minutes. She will then lay her head across my shoulder and fall asleep.
My Blusky rolls over every morning like clock work when we get up for a belly rub and even when I board the 2 of them at the kennels he does it down there,Manny on the other hand will stand on his hind legs and ask for something from the table if it smells good to him and if neither one of my family is paying attention he'll give a little bark to let us know he's there. When Manny is standing on his hind legs we've noticed at different times he'll stand like that for at least 5 minutes.
Oliver has his desqueaked ball he carrys around till dinner is put on tehe floor, like the others it scoofed and they both sit and watch me get our salad together, or the meat which usually ends in a treat of a snippet of ours. Amy does the face rub after food usually on her mattie.
Rolls are for getting up in here you get up you stretch, shake, then roll, moan, roll and watch the bed to see if I'm awake, if not do the paw pound on the matress.
Its fun watching what they do particularly when they don't realise they are being watched.

ps forgot the "coffee and a biscuit" buy line that gets Oliver from anywhere, thye get a home made doggie bickie and I get the coffee.
Rudy used to happy roll all the time. It's definitely a sign of contentment. I actually caught Zeke doing a happy roll the other day. I'm sure he picked that up from Rudy when they stayed together.
