A lady from my hometown, the one that runs the youth center my hubby and I volunteer at, was just diagnosed with kidney cancer. Her kidney was 95% full of cancer. They are doing tests Thursday morning to find out if she has cancer spread anywhere else also. They also are going to remove her kidney on October 26th. There are a lot of kids and adults in my hometown heartbroken over this. Her foster son, who has lived with them for about 12 years, just moved to Chicago last week. i am sure he will be returning to be with his family. She has a very large family to support her and a lot of other people who love her too.
I, personally, am still in shock over the news. My little brother goes to visit this woman every day for advice and comfort when he feels like he has no one else who will understand. He will be very upset when he finds out! I wish i were home to give him a big hug. We just lost our grandpa last April so this will be very hard for him to deal with. He has been seeing a councellor because he was having trouble dealing with his girlfriend's death (last year), and grandpa's death. please send rays to help him feel better too. I probably won't sleep tonight because i am so upset. Also I want to be awake if my baby brother calls.
Lots of rays coming your way from Idaho.... I will say a prayer for all of you tonight... *hugs*

Thank you so much!!! I am going to go see her tomorrow afternoon and spend time praying with her and comforting her. I will post an update when she gets her test results back. She was really hurt last night because she called a meeting together for all the kids at the center and only one showed up. It made her feel like they didn't care. Although, I know none of the kids knew what was going on and didn't think it was important to come that night. My little brother was up all night crying and very upset, according to my mom. I managed to sleep well last night and think I will be ok, unless they find out the cancer has spread more, then I will be upset more.
I really appreciate your prayers and so does everyone else! It truly means a lot to me. Thanks again! God Bless!
   :pray:I am sending lots of healing rays to your friend, yourself and your little brother. Please keep us posted on her test results....
Well the test results came back today and the doctor told her. i may have made a mistake. It may not be a tumor in your kidney, it might be kidney stones!! She is going to Omaha next monday to see a specialist to make sure. keep her in your prayers please i'll keep you updated.
Any update on this lady?
Gosh....I completely forgot about this post! :doah: Update: She is doing very well. When she went to the specialist they said the other doctor must have been out of his mind. :idiot: They were unable to find anything wrong with her at all. :apls: It was such great news, I forgot to update every one. So Sorry!!!
I'm just so happy she is doing well and continuing her group for the youth. She really does a great job!
That is great news. That is sort scarry a doc making a big mistake like that.
