Howdy To All...
MORE happy news to report!!!! Doxies are flying around everywhere here on the East Coast !! :hello2: Just read about David adopting Zeke & Zora ... HOW WONDERFUL!!! And, YES, I too believe that Max had a paw in that!! Seems my precious Miss Harley must have gotten together with Max at The Bridge... the two of them realized that David & Myself (MeMe) were SO grief-stricken over the loss of our babies..... and - somehow - MADE us do something about the situation - a lot sooner than we had ever planned!
This past week, while surfing online, "something" made me do a "DACHSHUND rescue" search on Petfinder.com. Keep in mind, I had NO intention of getting another fur-baby for a long while. Well... to make a long story short... this adorable little face popped up.... with a horribly sad story of abuse. I stopped, printed that page, kept thinking about her for a few days, then, I decided to "ask Miss Harley if she thought it was the right thing to do?"
This is where it gets freaky.... after I "asked Harley"... the UPS truck pulled up to my house with a large box. It was filled with lots of cool things I had ordered for Miss Harley for Christmas. :crazyeyes: I sat in the floor and thought: "Is this Harley's ANSWER to me?" I felt guilty... like it was "too soon". But, something kept drawing me back to this little Doxie on Petfinder.
Finally, I mustered up the nerve to fill out the adoption app, & within 12-hours, Winnie was MINE! She's coming from a rescue shelter (living in a foster home now) In North Augusta, South Carolina (I'm near Richmond, VA.)-- so, she's FLYING in Wed. 18th. As soon as I get her in her forever-home - I'll post pics and tell the horrible story of her past. She's a 9-lb. Mini-Short-haired Redish (only seen a small pic so far)- & her foster mommy said her tail wags non-stop.... & she's the sweetest fur-girl in the world. I can't wait to meet her and smother her with smoochies!!
So, YES.... David & friends..... Max & Harley DID have something to do with all this!!! How else can it be explained??? :thinik: *** MeMe, Miss Harley @ the Bridge :angel4:, & soon to be here: Winnie :wink:

Congratulations on your new furkid! Winnie sounds wonderful - that frequent tail-wagging is a great thing! I would think Miss Harley and Max did have a paw in things, all right!

Max & Harley really have outdone themselves to make this all happen so fast.
I know the new pups will never take their places and I know they realize it too, but wanted you to have another baby to love till you all meet again.

Wow!!!! This is SO wonderful! I know how hard it is to take another one in especially so soon but when they are sent directly to us and meant to be...there is just no fighting it even if you wanted to! She sounds like a little doll, I wish she could know right now what a wonderful life lays ahead of her. She is going to go a long way in healing your heart. Can't wait for the pictures!

I am so happy for you! Can't wait to see the pictures! I absolutley believe our heavenly furbabies often have a hand in sending the next generation to us. Kevin and I are convinced that Archie sent Boone to us, and I am sure that Miss Harley was helping you.
Congratulations !!! That is very exciting ! Bless you for giving Winnie a forever home - I know it wasn't easy...but sure sounds like your Angel above was watching over you and had another idea !!!! Harley knew you needed someone and that Winnie needed you !!! Look forward to the Gotcha Day story on the 18th !

Congratulations on the new addition!! Now I have to tell you an interesting side of this story. Last Monday evening I was at the computer looking to see if there were any Doxie picnics or anything around S.C. While doing so I found out there was a rescue group for this area. When I was looking at the dogs in the group I saw the picture of WINNIE!!!! She is precious. When I saw the part about N.Augusta, I knew exactly who you were talking about. I can't wait to hear the stories about Winnie in her forever home!
