Once upon a time in the land of Coppell Texas lived a woman. Her neighbors called her the Weiner Dog woman......because she was owned by 2 black and tan weiner dogs (dat's us - Rudy and Brandy !).

The Weiner Dog woman was called Barb and lived with Jimmy, the weiner dog dad.......but he wasn't as nutty about the furkids as Barb....so they didn't call him the Weiner Dog man...

Barb, Rudy, Brandy on the day that Brandy came to live with us!
Barb is blessed to also have a human stepdaughter named Keri, who will be 22 this year. She doesn't live with them, but lives across town in another suburb of Dallas. She does visit occasionally...when she has time - LOL !
Barb is an accountant and works for Oldcastle Glass. She has been there for 31 years - ugh !!!!
:thinik: Ok, here we go.....I am 54 yrs old...... I don't feel it most of the time.... but you could tell very quickly if my hairdresser didn't touch up the grey hair - HA !!! A full head of touch up !!! I guess I would call my self pleasantly plump.....gotta work on that !!!
My dream car has always been a Mercedes 450 convertible, Red...... guess the doglets will have to share the front seat !!!
I love to read (my parents owned several bookstores when I was growing up), garden, swim and hang out with the doglets.

I want to go to Germany - my maiden name is Gibke and would love to see if anyone there has my name!
I would also love to travel all the states in a travel trailer, with doggies, of course.....and will do that when I win the lotto !!!! Would love to go to Australia, Ireland.....and many more places!
I collect shot glasses - I try to pick one up wherever I travel - but that is not very often. And of course, dachshund stuff !
Favorite food...hmmmmm.....I love Snow Crab legs, I love bread (ugh - you can tell !!!), Mexican food. Junkfood - I eat way too much fast food junkfood - I love Chicken McNuggets !
My favorite movie's - Steel Magnolia's, Remember the Titans - I love heartwarmers....and can watch them over and over.
Favorite color - well, black and tan of course - LOL!!!! My living room is black, gold, browns - to match the dogs!
Favorite Song and Artist - I listen mostly to country and western and love Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Reba !!!! I like just about any kind of music - except for rap and some of the screaming head banging music.......although in the day, I loved Led Zepplin, Cream and Three Dog Night !!!!
A funny story.......When I turned 50, my birthday was on a week day.....so I come to work..... and enter the elevator.....and there is a picture of myself announcing that it was my birthday !!!! I got off the elevator and the same poster was all over the walls, the office, my office, the hall bathroom and come to find out......was all over the parking garage and posted all over downstairs and outside the building. I completly missed the parking garage ones and the ones posted outside - I walked right past them !!!! My friend and co-worker had pinned up 50 of them all over - LOL !!! Needless to say, a lot of strangers wished me a Happy Birthday !!! It was a fun day !
Most exciting thing I have ever done - that is hard - I feel like my life is so mundane compared to many of you ! I can't think of anything at this moment !
Winning the lotto - I keep trying each week - I would help out my family if needed. Buy a travel trailer and travel the US, looking for the perfect spot to set up our dachshund town and reserve - a home for any dachshund in need.....and plenty of land to build homes for other doxie lovers who want to help! I would also donate to other rescue organizations.
Most proud.....I guess I am most proud of my values, instilled in me by my parents - a strong work ethic, and a genuine concern for the well being of others.
Jimmy owns a motorcyle (Vulcan 1500, I think) - and when we have time we go ride. One of the things we do each year is participate in the Toy Fun Run at Christmastime. It is a huge gathering of motorcyles that bring toys to a designated place. One gathering starts in Dallas and the other in Fort Worth and they converge in the middle - close to Texas Ranger Stadium. Around 20,000+ bikes participate. They block off part of the highway and the line of bikes goes for miles and miles - a true sight to see and many line the highways to wave and watch. We strap our toys to the back of the bike and take off - it is fun and it generates tons of toys !!!!

"Great Write Up"!! I love the pictures! :thumb:
What a creative way to put up your POD! Love the pictures, and the black and tan living room LOL. I almost expected to see a picture of two doxies on a motorcycle with little helmets on. :thumb: Great stuff Barb!
Great write-up, Barb! Chilie would have a heart attack looking at all those motorcycles! She LOVES motorcycles and has to bark at them whenever they drive by. I like all the pictures you posted. The one of Rudy and Brandy on the couch at Christmastime is so cute! Looking at Brandy in that picture, she looks like she has a tiara on her head. Must be the tree ornament in the background. Is the Toy run you do in connection with Toys For Tots (done my the Marine Corps)? Every December in Chicago there is a huge motorcycle Toy run for Toys For Tots that our Marine Corps puts together.
Well, now that we all know you collect shot glasses, I bet you get a whole bunch from places you've never travelled to!
Great job writing your POD! Loved to get to know more about you!!! HAPPY POD!!! I have some friends that do the fun run here too. They absolutely love it! I really liked your pictures. As far as you growing up with parents who had bookstores, I am so jealous!! LOL I have run out anything to read in our library here, because I read so much. (Well at least all the books i was interested in.) So..I just keep reading the favorites of mine over and over again. Hope you have a great day!!
Wonderful write up, Barb! Brandy and Rudy, as usual when I see you in pics, I have to clean the slobber off my monitor. You two are SO smoochable!
What a great way to tell us about YOU! I love the pictures AND the write up! Have a wonderful day!
great write up barb, you and rudy and brandy you have blessed with great parents.

LOL - I think Brandy's tiara is the lights - probably caught mid-blink !!!!
I am not sure now if the Toy Run is sponsored by Toys for Tots - I have the link at home - I will check !
Yay! :hello2: Happy POD, Barb!
Great pics of the puppers! And I love the story about your 50th birthday! What a fun place you must work at!
Love your write-up, Barb! How come I've met you at Nikki's and at Ron & Delia's, and you must've seen my license plate (BOOK RDR), and you didn't tell me your parents owned bookstores, for crying out loud? Hi, Rudy and Princess Brandy! Spoil your mama this evening!
LOL that does look like a tiara on Brandys head! Does she have one like the one you sent Hallie?
HA OK that explains it...I always wondered who was taking that photo but was too afraid to ask LOL! It's priceless.
Loved the write-up and the pix...I was laughing...your bed & occupants looks like ours!
We are close in age (and sounds like size and hair color) and have a pair of doxies...that sleep in the big bed...
I think we must be related...at least a little
