Mama took us to Petsmart and we waz happy 'cause we like to bark at ever'one. Den she takes us to da groomer part and sayz "chop toez and clean EARZ!" We didn' do nuthin' to hab dat done! We stood real still while dey did dat but we BARKED all da way out da door!
April here: I took Cajsa, Gretchen and Elf to Petsmart this evening to have toe nails trimmed and to get the aquarium water checked. (Word of advice NEVER take two dogs and a two year old by yourself!) Anyway, Gretch and Cajsa barked at everyone and got a treat to try to quiet them. They stayed really quiet while the nails got trimmed, the ears got cleaned, and they got a breath spray! Each of them got a spray of perfume too. They really enjoyed things AFTER it was done. I may take them back there again, if I had help.
My gosh you are a brave lady to handle all that by yourself. Sounds like the kids did really good, and came out like Dorothy ready to see the wizard! I hope you get help next time though I would have needed a long nap after that LOL.

Clifford here: I don't mind toe chopz too much coz then I can sneak up on wabbit and skwirlz better.
I have to take Ozzy tonight to get his toes done - not looking forward to it because he throws such a fit. I wish he would bark instead of snapping!!! Anyway the girls are always good with him, and always assure me there are furkids that act worse than Ozzy.
Toe chops and butt squeezes are on tap for tomorrow. And since I'll be doing the duty, I'll need to walk them across the street to the vet. We usually have a favorite groomer who is A LOT cheaper but we've had conflicting schedules of late so it's off to the vet.....whom we don't usually go to anymore because they penny and dime you to death and they send "guilt cards" that make us sound like bad parents because "Maddie is due for blood tests....we're concerned." Why have a test if there's NOTHING WRONG? ANYWAY, another story. So the hounds and me will be off to see the Wizard tomorrow for pedicures and ...ahem....unmentionables. :grin:
Mindy, Dolly hates having her anals done and can do a sneak attack nip if the groomer isn't careful. That's why we usually soft muzzle her. It's painless for Doll and painless for the snipper.
When I had Schatzi's nails done last, she was an angel. That was after I warned them about how much she hates it and I usually can only get one or two done a day. The vet tech had me hold her and Schatzi let her do every toe without a problem. Guess she was determined to make a liar out of her mamma.
Molly is going to go have hers done this weekend, unless I get Randy to take her for a bath and nails on Friday (she is really needing a bath and too big to handle at home). She HATES nails more than any dog I've seen, so I'll pay any amount to have someone else do it!
Bummer.....we used to go to de Petsmart to get our toes chopped....den mama got dat dremel ting and grinds out toes - ick !!!! Glad you got to bark at all the peoples !!!! Hee Hee.....
