Title: Any Quilters this is a question for you
Post by: Roberta on October 01, 2006, 02:31:21 AM
Do find that when you start to piece or quilt, the four leggeds want attention. To-day i gave them bones so I could at least get an hour free from the guilt trip they put me on. Then I get Amy mmmmmmmmmmmmmm away at he fly wire, bone in mouth, put her out the back and she turned up again moaningm put her out the front AGAIN. 5 mins later she is back at the dootr, then it dawned on me she did not want to put it down or gorgious red head would take it, so took her in and put it on the drain board she was happy. Then she proceded to follow and lie and stare, you know the woe is me look.............. her brother wanted in and joined her so for the next hour I had a convoy from my work room to the laundry and back to the workroom.................you can guess who crumbled first.

Am I alone with  this

I have the same problem!!   Everytime I get out any of my crafts or projects, Porky is all up in my face and wanting attention.  If i don't give it to him, he starts beign naughty to get my attention.  When I am working on homework for my college courses, he jumps up and sits on top of my notebook or my textbook and won't move.  i usually have to put him in his kennel so i can have time to get it done, but then he whines and kicks the side the whole time.     :nana:   Seems like I can't get much done unless I take him to his hugrandma's down the street and have her dogsit until i'm done.   I am so fortunate to have them so close.

Fortunately for my projects, my dogs are not the type to want to cuddle for hours on end.  Losing Archie and then Poldie taught me that my time with them is too short, so when somebody wants lovies I set the project aside and give them lovies.  I won't ever regret my unfinished needlework, but I will surely regret every kiss and snuggle I have ever missed.

Jeri the post is tongue in cheek, this is a pair that get hugged snuggled etc for the rest of the day, I sit and do needlework with them between my legs, they usually participate in laying  quilts out playing rollies in the pieces.
They are the end all and be all of my life. So too were my other three angels, Angus used to like a chair next to me, Emma was love me when I want you to and we did, Ingrid was just a minx who adored helping.........
I agree life with them is so short to miss a cuddle.

I too agree.  I spend all day at home with my precious little Porky.   He's the reason i'm taking correspondence courses instead of regular college courses.  I usually do all my working with him right by my side.   My comments were not complaints either.  I love the fact that he loves to cuddle and wants to be with me so much.   He waits by the door for his hudad to come home every morning.  The whole time, he turns and runs back to the living room to make sure he is protecting me while he waits for my husband to come home.  Porky is such a loving dog.

LOL I just have to laugh at the vision Roberta! I'm sure they get PLENTY of loves and snuggles from you, I too am constantly getting up to run out to Hallie everytime she squeeks a toy, barks out the front window (she has learned that makes Mom come), or just lays there with her chin between her paws giving me the "look". My brother and I were working on a project the other day and had papers all over the floor discussing them, here comes the Little Miss, lays right down on the ones we were looking at and rolls over on her back, laying motionless with her tummy up. How can you resist that LOL. I lately have been painting and drawing while sitting on the floor rather than in my studio upstairs and she thinks that 's grand we can cuddle while I work!

I would sure like to see some of your quilts in person, I can't even begin to imagine how you can put one of those together.
