Title: POD 9/29
Post by: TerriL on September 29, 2006, 07:33:01 AM
1.  Where do you live?  Clearwater, Florida   We moved here two years ago from New Hampshire.  Talk about culture shock!

2.  Spouse?  Significant other?  Husband Keith

3.  Children - how many and ages.  I have three children.  My daughter Loretta is my oldest.  She is 27 and will be getting married next year.  My daughter Julie is the middle child.  She is currently living in New York City and attending Parsons School of Design.  My son Alex is 19 and my baby.... (and the girls would say the spoiled one!).  Alex is in his second year of college in New Hampshire.

4.  What do you do for a living?  I work for a Swedish based company that develops SRM (storage resource management) software.  The US division is still really small but we are growing quickly.  I'm on the sales end of the business.

5.  If you dare.....your age and describe yourself !  Age?  It's all relevant.... 40 something.  I'm 5'2" and I'm still trying to lose the baby weight from my last pregnancy 19 years ago.  I have always been blonde although these days I have to give it a little bit of assistance.

6.  What is your dream car/vehicle?   Color?  Not a huge car person but I wouldn't mind owning one of the little Saturn Sky Roadsters....probably in black.

7.  Other than your passion for dachshunds, what are your hobbies?  Gardening...although I'm still learning the ins and outs of southern plants.  I love to cook.   I'm also a shoe-aholic.....and for those of you who didn't know this....flip-flops do NOT count as shoes!  At least that's what I tell my husband!

8.  If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?  Italy... my grandmother grew up there and I would love to visit.  Anyplace WARM!

9.  Do you collect anything?  Cookbooks!  I love them!  Shoes... see above.

10.  Favorite Food/ Favorite junkfood.  Italian and Indian.  Chocolate....white, milk, dark,.....any chocolate any time!

11.  Favorite Movie   Hummm...that's a tough one.  The first movie that comes to mind is Forrest Gump.

12.  Favorite Color - Anything light and airy!

13.  Favorite Song/Artist   There is no way I can pick just one.  I pretty much love all sorts of music.

14.  Tell us a funny story about yourself. -  It's not really "funny", but my family finds it amusing.  I have NEVER been a dog person.  Never had them growing up and was somewhat intimidated by them.  When Alex was in his last year of high school we decided it might be time to get a pet.  I researched all sorts of dogs and finally decided on a dachsie as that was what my husband really wanted (he had grown up with them), and it seemed to fit all the necessary criteria.  When I first laid eyes on my Buelah I knew that she was the one. Love at first sight!   After a few months with her I decided she needed a playmate and we brought home Oscy.  After we moved to Florida we decided, "hey, what's one more!" and adopted Toby-Man.  The family now refers to me as "That crazy woman with many little dogs".

15.  What is the most exciting thing you have ever done?  Given birth....all three times.

16.  If you won the lotto, what would you do with the money?  What WOULDN'T I do!  I'd make sure that my children were all set and I would travel and of course....SHOP!  I definately would buy a place with lots of room for dachsies!

17.  What are you most proud of?-  My children... the two legged ones and the four legged ones

18.  Any other tidbits about you that you would like to share?  Come on.....   -  Nothing that should be written and could be used against me in a court of law.  Hey...I grew up in the seventies!  :)

I can't seem to get any text with my pics...so......
The first is Keith and I the day we picked up Toby-Man
The second is my co-workers and I at a recent trade show.... Yes, those are indeed Antlers on our heads!
Next is my daughter Julie with her dog Spike.... he is an Italian Greyhound.
The last is my daughter Loretta with my soon to be son-in-law, Stephen.
I'll have to post a picture of my son later....I don't have any with me here at work.  :(

kids and fur kids!  You should be proud...they're beautiful and sound like you have raised them well!

My DH and I have relatives in Tampa and Spring Hill.  We love Clearwater and the western keys!  Maybe next time we can get together and we can get a Doxie fix!

What a neat family you have!

And I have to agree:

flip-flops do NOT count as shoes!
When I gripe to my sister about her purse addiction, she points out my shoe addiction and I have to reminder her that flip-flops don't count!

Happy POD Day!

Terry what a lovely family you have four and two legged.
When Nick and I moved into the house we decided to get a dog and the only one Nick wanted was a b/t shorthair, I concured but saying if we got another it would be a long hair. I love hairy dogs more than the short hairs. We hope to get a third when we retire, but two at present are a handful.

To throw another spanner in the works here is OZ flip flops are called thongs :idiot:, and I agree one can never have enough shoes or fabric.
Hope you day was good............
