Title: Posting descriptions with pic in a post
Post by: Ruth in MT on August 28, 2005, 08:27:14 PM
How do you post a description/title with and between pictures ?
When I post a picture it shows the "file name" .....   and I can't find the way to put any text with the pictures
.

David C. just posted pictures of his beautiful daughter ...... his post shows :   description
                                                                                                          picture
                                                                                                        description
                                                                                                         picture
How do I do that?

Ruth, there is no way to do that when you attach the pictures to the post. David did that by linking to pictures that were hosted elsewhere.  :thumb:

So we can still post pictures from a separate website like flickr.com?  It seems that all of my pictures on my computer are under some weird format and for some reason, I don't have an option to save as any of the allowable types.  For the pics I've posted, I've had to open them in Paint and save them as gifs which results in a lower quality.

Yes you can link to images on other hosts such as Flickr and any other service that allows direct links. What file extension do your images have?  :dontknow: Any non-lossy format is generally great quality but results in huge files sizes, GIF and JPEG offer decent image quality at reasonable file sizes.

A quick Google search found this site that converts between several formats:

Another site that resize photos:

I have never used any of these services so I can't vouch for any of them.
