Title: POD - Sept. 5th - Julie (Sgt & Libby's momma)
Post by: Julie on September 05, 2006, 07:02:49 AM
1.  Where do you live?  Tampa, Florida

2.  Spouse?  Significant other?  My high school sweetie, Eric

3.  Children - how many and ages.  Between us, we have 3 two legged children.  Eric has a daughter Devonann who is 13 and lives in England with her mother, and I have two girls, Bethany, 12, and Gabbi, 10 (just turned 10 yesterday, my baby is growing up).  And, we can’t forget our 4-legged children, Sergeant, Libby, Toby Cat, and Bella the Psycho cat.

4.  What do you do for a living?  I am a Realtor.  If anyone is looking to buy a house, let me know, I have a network of Realtors we work with and I would be happy to give you a referral (and get the referral fee from the other company!!).  Eric is a Tech Sergeant (E-6) in the Air Force.  He was selected for promotion to Master Sergeant and will pin on his new stripe in November!

5.  If you dare.....your age and describe yourself!  I am 36 and Eric will be 36 in December.  Yes, I am the older woman, by 8 months.

6.  What is your dream car/vehicle?   Color?  Blue BMW Z3, of course it would be hard to drive the cheerleading carpool in it.

7.  Other than your passion for dachshunds, what are your hobbies?  I have been playing around with cake decorating.  I took some classes earlier this year and have been doing cakes for the family.

8.  If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?  I would love to tour Europe.

9.  Do you collect anything? We collect a little trinket from each place we visit.  They are the type of thing you find in the little tourist trap stores with the name of the place on it.  We have a shelf full of them.

10.  Favorite Food/ Favorite junkfood.  My favorite food is crab legs and favorite junk food is Little Debbie Swiss Cakes.

11.  Favorite Movie:  Steel Magnolias " I have seen it 20 times and still cry at the ending.

12.  Favorite Color  purple

13.  Favorite Song/Artist  “Only the Good Die Young” by Billy Joel

14.  Tell us a funny story about yourself.  I have to think about this one.

15.  What is the most exciting thing you have ever done?  Probably about 3 years ago when I flew from Tampa to Hawaii (I am terrified of flying) by myself, to meet Eric for a week.  He was spending a year in Korea and he had a conference in Hawaii, so I met him there.  I was so scared about the trip, but I had a blast.

16.  If you won the lotto, what would you do with the money?  Pay off all of our bills and then take a cruise around the world with my family.

17.  What are you most proud of?  I would have to say my husband and my girls.  The other thing I am proud of is passing the Florida Real Estate License test on my first try.

18.  Any other tidbits about you that you would like to share?  Come on.....   Eric and I dated in our senior year of high school.  After high school, we went our separate ways, each married, had kids and divorced, and then found each other again about 5 years ago.   We will be married 4 years this November.

Great pictures!  I, too, am a Steel Magnolias fan.  My favorite line in the movie (loosely translated):  "I have a very strict policy.  No one cries alone in my presence." - Dolly Parton as Truvy

Very interesting write up about you and your family.  I loved seeing all the photos!  Even though I have my Private Pilots license, I too am terrified of flying in the big jets.  They just do not glide when the engine goes out like the small planes do.  But I would put up with my fear for a trip to Hawaii anyday!!!

Happy POD, Julie! (But which is Toby Cat, and which is Bella, the Psycho Cat?) Your pictures are great!

Toby cat is in the back with the pink nails, Psycho Bella is in the front.  Toby is half Maine Coone and weighs 16 lbs.  He has no problem holding down Sgt & Libby when he decides to groom them! Bella only gets near the dogs when they are sleeping.  They love chasing her because she runs from them.  Libby loves to go up to the cats and give them kisses.

Happy POD Day, Julie!  What a sweet family you have and I just love your and Eric's story about finding each other again. I also love the picture of Sargie protecting all his toys and Libby sitting in the middle of toy stuffing.  Berman and Lucy are the same way!

PS - I LOVE Steel Magnolias too - can you be a woman and not like that movie?!?!
