Hi...Hemi here. I went to my Appy's house on Monday w/ my Mom and my kids. The last time I saw that puppy that Appy and Papa have she was little and I could bite her! Now she is big and wants to bite me. Appy told me that she caught a mole in the front yard and that she probably thought I was another mole. I don't know whether or not I should be insulted! But...I don't think I want to play with that Katie anymore...she's too fiesty for me!
Here's a picture of us playing, one of me w/ my big boy, Ty (8) and with my sweet girl, Faith (5).
Poor Hemi, you are having a tough time with all these big dogs around, and they just keep getting bigger and you don't! Don't worry, your people will watch out for you and soon enough the other puppies will settle down and learn to play nicely like you are trying to do.
Hemi - hang in there - pretty soon Katie will be real tall - and you can run through her legs !!!!!
Poor Hemi, I don't blame you. Those big doggies play RUFF. well, remember, YOU'RE A DACHSHUND and YOU'RE IN CHARGE!
I'm with you Hemi. My Mom never lets me down around our golden friends either, their paw paws are as big as I am and I don't like it either! It's not all bad though it's a good way to get held a lot! :thumb:
Thanks for your support friends...but I guess I should say that even though Katie is kinda ruff w/ me she is a REAL pretty girl! I'm kinda used to gettin' ruffed up though since my brother Gunny (the big bully!) is always pickin' on me. Here's a picture of MY Appy holding my dumb brother...I don't think she likes him as much as she likes me!!!
Aren't those bully kisses something else? When Molly gives kisses (which she does to Randy ALL the time, mine she is stingy with ), they feel like butterfly kisses. She comes at you with this huge mouth and then she does these really light kisses, though they can be slobbery!
Be sure to have your daughter get one of the shedding blades and get Gunny used to it. Molly sheds a lot and that works the best on her. She would let me use it all day if I could. One I realized that because of her build, she can only reach so many places on her body to scratch, it made a lot of sense!
I believe Jess got one of those shedding blades last week. She is a real good dog Mama...it's obvious the difference having three kids made! lol We ended up w/ sweet Piddleman b/c she was 18 and it was too much responsibility to take care of him!
Still warming up to Gunny...I've never been fond of the flat faced dogs...my Grama Rose always had Chinese Pugs and they were always snorting and blowing their yucky noses on stuff. So...it's going to take me a bit longer to say I am truly fond of him. But if Jess loves him, then he must be ok!!! He was quite affectionate when I was holding him!!
