Title: Ok...having a blonde moment. How much Benedryl should I give?
Post by: doxielady5569128 on August 06, 2006, 12:21:49 PM
Hi everybody!  Either the vet forgot to tell me how much to give, or I forgot.  :doah: Anyway...She instructed me to give Porky some benedryl for his allergies. I havent' had to give him any in a long time and can't remember how much to give.   He weighs 9.8 pounds.  I do know he will not take the liquid kind, but will easily take the pill version.  But, I can't remember if I was supposed to cut in fourths, or half.  Anybody know???  Thanks.

Porky has been downright miserable trying to breathe this week.  He has been sleeping alot during the day because at night he is so congested, which is reasonI am sure he is waking in the night.  We were both up all night last night because he kept getting scared because he couldn't breathe very well.  SInce its Sunday, the vet is not available to call, otherwise I would.

Thanks so much Ruth!!  That is what I was thinking was 1/4 of the pill.  I can't believe I forgot to ask when we were there!

How is Ellie doing now?   Poor thing.  Those reactions can be nasty, not to mention itchy!!!

papbouv here again have you thought about running a Humidifier like you do when kids are having a hard time breathing also when Porky was at the vet's did he listen to his lungs Pneumonia may be a factor since he ate the moth thing read on that web site the moth thing can cause breathing problems.Know it was awhile back he ate the moth thing but you never know better to be safe than sorry Dogs do not do well if they get Pneumonia read up on it when my Jakie ( Bouvier) had Mega Esophagus all his life. Was a nurses aide for 31 years.
