Like labrador licks from 3 dog bakery. These were in their treat box and have been given one at a time every week-end and have finally finnished. These are the only biscuits that my pair have drooled over.
Roberta
Roberta,
I have a Three Dog Bakery Cookbook -- no Labador Licks but here are a couple that Sargey and Looie go nuts for:
Party Hearty Mix-It-Up Mix:
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 teaspoons skim milk
2 and 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoone ginger
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together oil, honey, vanilla, egg and milk in bowl. In a separate bowl, blend together flour, baking powder and ginger. Combine dry ingredients with wet mixture and stir thoroughly. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes. Placed on greased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container. Makes 42 cookies/biscuits.
Simple Simon's Birthday Bones
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut buttter and milk. Add wet mixture to dry and mix well. Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface andknead. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack and then store in an airtight container. Makes 30 large bones/biscuits.
The book I have has over 50 recipies for all-natural treats for the dogs.

Treats I make for my critters cheaper than the ones in the store.
1 roll turkey ground
1 roll turkey sausage
1# lean hambug er
can add the following bacon bits, chicken livers, beef liver, carrots, green beans, garlic
I only add 1 of the following bacon bits one time, next time chicken livers ect.
I mix it up sit down roll out little meatballs nuke them in the microwave about 10 mins. take the meatballs out of the pan pour off any grease stick the meatballs back in the pan and nuke them again for about 10 mins. of course it depends on how big you make the meat balls. Then I let them cool cut them up 1 meatball into 1/4 then put them in bags & freeze them just take out 1 bag at a time must be kept refrigerated.
If you have a birthday party or an event for dogs you can take the above ingredients in a Bundit cake pan cook like a meat loaf turn it out onto a plate when cool after pouring the extra grease off. Icing can be Low Fat Cream Cheese fill the hole in the middle with the tiny dog biscuts you can some time find in a Pet Store usually they a green, red, yellow also you can decorate the top of the cake with the little biscuits.
Also dogs go nuts for the following Alpo square dog biscuits get the tube of pate Bratwurst or something like that not sure how it is spelled comes in a tube its like a paste spread it on the Alpo biscuits put on another biscuit and you have little sandwiches for the dogs.
I like the above meatballs because in summer you can cook them in the microwave you do not heat up the house then in winter you can bake them in the oven to help heat the house.Low in fat too.Of course not very crunchy for their teeth but they love them.
papbouv
These sound great!
How long will they keep? How often do you give them to the babies?
Thanks!
paula
These do sound good! Hallie won't eat crunchy treats though (unless they are either VERY little or I crunch them up tiny for her) so we're limited to making her soft ones. I could try papbouvs recipe though. I used some "liver brownies" when I was training Hallie (sob..."was") that had turkey burger, spinach, banana, etc that were good. I now have been making her some low cal treats of lightly steamed carrots, no salt green beans, banana, tiny bit of canned food, little canned pumpkin, all in a food processor, add a lot of filtered water and make ice cubes. She loves those.
Sounds like the Oz Doxies are in for some good eatin'! :thumb:
It all sounds good! Hallie must be "del-ee-kut" (delicate) like Brekke, because I have to break all biscuits into pieces the size of a thumbnail!
Paula: In an airtight container, in a cool-dry place, they will keep for a few weeks. Because they make so many (because I make them small), I keep some out and freeze the rest. Then as needed, I pull them out of the freezer, let them thaw and more treats for the doggity.
DeeDee and Julia: The treats are not super crunchy (at least when I've made them). Sarge is also one that when it comes to biscuits, he likes them small and not real crunchy. I have made them about the size of a 50 cent piece and smaller. I have a bone cookie cutter that is about an inch long that I have also used. As far as store-bought biscuits, he will eat MilkBone and Scooby-Snacks (which came in the treat box from Oscy, Beulah and Toby) and the smaller biscuits from Petco (again some that Oscy, Beulah and Toby sent in the treat box). Looie is also one that does not prefer the real crunchy and big biscuits. So, I modify for them.
Dee
papbouv here I put the cooked treats in small freezer bags keep on small bag out and keep the rest in the freezer the opened bag I keep in the refrigerator usually get 4 small pieces in the am & pm. Gizmo has tiny teeth so I keep Patches busy with tricks while poky Gizmo eats.
STOP TALKING ABOUT THEM AND GIVE ME A BISCUIT............................Please mumsy
Thanks Dee!! I will have to try those for Hallie. They sound nummy!!!! She has a birthday coming up on Monday (we're having a dinner at grammas for her :)) I'd say it calls for some fresh cookies.
Good idea with the freezer papbouv, I do that too.
LOL Roberta, Hallie has the same sentiment!
