Story about me that my Hoomans would like to share:
Alex is a real sweetheart. He is a good judge of character, too, as are Willy and Misty. When my father-in-law came to visit us from California after Dan’s mom died, he was greeted by three wiener dogs with wildly wagging tails, and no barking. It was kind of strange, as all three bark at everyone, even people they see often. Well, this happened each and every year over the past 5 years. When Dan and his father would arrive from the airport, all three dogs were all wags, as if they were saying “its about time you came to visit us again.” How they remembered him from only seeing him for two weeks out of every year is one of those magical mysteries. Oh, by the way, during my father-in-law’s visit, all three dogs remained glued to his side. Thankfully, he loved them too.
Happy DOD to you Alex!!! Hope you get a really special treat for your special day. :apls:

Alex used to have this one little white hair under his right eye. Nowadays, Willy has a lot more white on his face than Alex, even though they are littermates and the same age. Sometimes, however, I have to look real closely to tell them apart.

Alex really does have a shiney coat. Misty and Willy do, too. Not sure what I am doing right but all three have always had nice coats. I have always fed my doxies Purina One.
Perhaps Dan's dad smelled very similar to Dan and so they knew he was a good guy?
Have a great Day, Alex!!!
Happy DoD, Alex! I hope you get some great goodies and some belly rubs on your special day! That family "smell" may be the key all right! My girls never barked at their hoograndad or hoograndma, as they usually did upon seeing someone the first time or on rare occasions.

I don't know about the smell thing..................Willy and Dan had a test of wills a couple of weeks ago, and Willy bit Dan. That is why we are currently going to obedience/behavior classes. :dontknow:
