Roscoe seems to be showing some signs of back issues again. No sign of pain, he just isn't moving as well and the nerve damage he's had with his back left left leg since he went down in November seems a little worse. His signs are not constant, they seem to rise and fade throughout the day. I've been keeping a careful eye on him all weekend.
We are trying a short course of steroids and crate rest to see if he improves. Please send rays that this is all he needs. I don't think we can swing another surgery right now with it being so soon after the last one and with the major life change coming our way. I'm just so worried.
OH geez I really hate to hear this Krista. But the good news is you know what to look for and you caught it very early if it is even anything at all. I know that fear, I'm praying hard he will be fine with no need for further treatment, you are doing all he needs right now. Keep us posted.
Sending mega HHHHHHHHH's & PPPPPPPPPPPP's for Roscoe. Hope all goes well without the surgery.
Merion & the ZZ's
Sending tons of RAYZ your way!! I will give you a call this week and check on him. Poor guy can't seem to catch a break :(
Hugs
Jen & the Crew
Oh no Roscoe - rays on the way sweet boy....lots of rest - please take it easy. Prayers on the way too - please keep us posted. Hang in there Krista - hugs to you -
Hopefully the steroids and rest will do it for him, especially with it being so soon after surgery. I'll be saying some prayers for him, also. You are right about the budget when the new life change is about to happen and you are still getting over one surgery. Hopefully it won't come to that and he'll be just fine soon.
Rays and prayers coming in full force for sweet Roscoe! I hope the steroids and crate rest work for him. The last time Chilie was showing signs of back problems, the crate rest and meds worked well. So, again, I hope it works for Roscoe. You don't need any extra worries right now.
How's the pregnancy going? Any morning sickness (or afternoon, or evening...) or unusual cravings? (I know, I know, those are the million dollar questions, right?) I hope everything is going alright. How far along are you now?
Thanks everyone for the rays and prayers. They seem to be working, so keep them coming!
Beth, my pregnancy is going well. Thanks for asking. I have my third OB appointment on Thursday so we should get to hear the heartbeat again and I'm having bloodwork done. I've lost about 9 pounds from getting sick, which was happening all day long, but mostly morning or evening. I'm 14 weeks now, so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon. No matter what, any unpleasant symptom is all worth it though if it means our little one is healthy.
Glad to hear that your pregnancy is going well. Hopefully the morning sickness will start to wane soon, but you're right....it's a small price to pay for what is coming! Didn't hearing the baby's heartbeat just blow you away? I cried the first time I heard Lara's heartbeat. And in another month, you could be feeling the baby move, which is just incredible. I'm so excited for you. Are you and John going to find out the sex, or do you want to be surprised?
I hope Roscoe is doing better today. We're still sending him healing rays! :sunny:
Glad to hear Roscoe is feeling ok do you think it was his back at all? Phew they can scare us. Sorry you are having sickness right now but it will pass, each stage brings something different. My sister was so ill with both of hers, she couldn't even brush her teeth but it all passed. You must be excited.
While Roscoe is doing better, I do still think it has something to do with his back or the nerve damage in the rear left leg. He definitely has experienced a change in how that leg moves, though he still has pain sensation and reflexes in it.
I'm still keeping him crated unless I'm sitting with him or I take him out to potty, and we are still giving him a low dose of dexamethasone. As long as he does not get worse, it will be okay, even if that change in his leg is permanent.
Yes, I'm very excited about being pregnant. I'm going to hopefully record the heartbeat tomorrow at my appointment and be able to save the file to my computer. We look forward to welcoming this little one into our family. Thanks for all your good thoughts.
Gosh, I know how scary that is and how hard it is to keep them crated but it does sound very mild and you were right on the ball, so I'm sure he'll recover just fine! I hope his leg will get 100% better too but like you said it doesn't sound very extreme and certainly something he could easily live with. It's just stressful on us to be waiting and having to crate them but the time will pass and he'll forget this part. Hallie and I are on day 8 and she is being so good, but we were always on the go so much, we were always out doing thigns every day so this is sudden stir crazy for her. Such a good girl but I am trying all I can to keep her occupied, when she's not sleeping in the crate (I get my computer work done then) I take her to the crate in the yard and sit next to her while I paint. But she still wants to get out and play!
How exciting to be able to hear the heartbeat, you guys must be beside yourselves!
Hang in there with Rudy, I'm sure he'll be fine.
Keep gettin' better, Roscoe P, y'hear? ))))))))))))) Rays.
