Title: Leopold update
Post by: Jeri on May 25, 2006, 12:16:30 PM
We just returned from the vet.  As we suspected, his cancer has returned.  X-ray reveals a mass on his spleen.  His blood tests show normal or near normal levels in every category.  If it were't for the x-ray, you would think this was the blood of a healthy dog.  This indicates that at this time no other organs are involved.  Because he is otherwise healthy, the vet recommended a spleenectomy.  Since everything indicates that he will enjoy a few more healthy and joyful months if he has the surgery, that is what we will do.  Your rays and prayers have helped us so far.  Please continue to send them our way.  Thank you all so very much!

You are just awesome parents - Poldie is so blessed.

Sending rays and prayers in full force - please let us know when the surgery is scheduled.

Bless you and bless Poldie, what marvellous parents you are and what a tough, brave little fellow he is.  We´re crossing everything we can and praying hard - let us know when he has the spleenectomy so we can do it all even harder.

I forgot to mention, Poldie is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.  He will likely come home Saturday afternoon.  Thank goodness this is a holiday weekend, so we will be able to spend an extra day at home with him.

I'm late, but rays are on the way that this surgery gives him some more well-deserved, happy time with you.  We're thinking of you all!
