Title: Bee sting on nose!
Post by: Cathy on May 21, 2006, 02:21:41 PM
Weinie just got stung on the nose by a bee!!  As I was in the process of trying to get him away from attacking them, he caught one in his mouth.  The bee stung him in the process.  I pulled the stinger out already.  Bless his little heart  he did not enjoy the bee as much as I am sure he had hoped.

Has anyone else's babe been stung by a bee?  I hope he doesn't have an allergic reaction.  He is so little I am nervous.

This happened to Zuzu!
You should watch for an allergic reaction in the first three hours.  (Don't know what time zone you are in, but I am guessing the time is past.)
When Zuzu got stung, her face swelled in 20 minutes.  Poor kid looked like someone shoved a lemon up her nose.)
She needed an injection of benedryl becasue her airway was involved.  Call the vet if you SUSPECT ANY complications!

Lily was stung on her paw and it swelled up quickly.  She started panting within 20-30 minutes and I took her to the vet and they gave her shots for the reaction.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the replies!  Weinie did not seem to have any reaction to his bee sting!  Thank Goodness!  This morning he seems to be more determined than ever to bite/eat more bees.  I am not sure why the bees are here, but they are attracted to my Sego Palms.  They like the root part that is exposed.  But Weinie does not think they should be bothering his plants!  HA HA

Have a great day,

Cathy - Weinies mom

Gunner got bit by a bee and I took him to the vet,  he also got hives out of it. Benadryl is good to use.
