:hello2: Porky here- momma and I just got home from our long vacation. Oh boy, did I have lots of fun!! We went to my momma's grandparents house in Wyoming for Easter and then stayed for two whole weeks!! When I was there the first few days I got to play with momma's cousin Amelia(she's just a baby) and all the other relatives. There was this one guy there I think his name was uncle Tracy...He was the funnest!! I think he may be a dog trapped in a hoobody. He's real fun to play with, he would even bark and growl with me, we had tons of fun! I even got to make friends with some big deer in the backyard. The best part of my vacation was going to the nursing home to see my momma's grandpa who is in the rehab there. One of the ladies living there bought me a toy! The physical therapists said I helped them get grandpa to stand up.
Hi everybody. Porky and I both enjoyed our vacation. Even though my husband had to leave for home early and we spent two weeks without him. I was really surprised at how well Porky behaved when we were in the nursing home to see my grandpa. One lady liked him a lot and asked if she could buy Porky a gift. I thought that was very sweet of her, so on our last day in town, we brought her some flowers.
My grandpa is doing a little better every day, he is not back to walking yet, but gets closer everyday. For those of you who don't know my grandpa choked on some food back in March and had to be hopitalized for that, while in the hospital he had to have a feeding tube put in until his throat healed from the choking. While they were putting in the tube, they accidentally punctured his lung and made it collapse. So he was in ICU with a feeding tube and oxygen. Then, he caught pneumonia and became very weak. He got out of the hospital one week before Easter and they had to send him to a nursing home for rehab. He has to get his strength back so he can learn to walk again. He also has to learn how to eat solid foods again without choking. His throat is still badly damaged from the choking in March, so he is still on the feeding tube and they are gradually giving him new foods to try. He is currently eating soft foods and pureed foods only and cannot drink anything that is not thickened or he will choke. He has a long ways to go, but if he keeps working hard he will be outta there in no time!
My grandma is doing okay despite all that is going on. She used to be a nurse, so she likes to oversee everything going on with grandpa's care which is great! We are just trying to remind her that she needs rest too. Porky and I may go back there at the end of this month to help grandma some more. Grandpa may be coming home then so she will need all the help she can get. We are really hoping he will come home without the wheelchair, but that isn't for sure yet. He lost a lot of weight and is very weak. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to catch everybody up on where we have been!

I'm glad you had a great vacation and your Grandad is doing better. It is so hard to see our loved ones in pain. Glad Porky could help get Granpa standing up.
Will hope for the best for your grandpa. I'm glad your grandma is able to take part in his care. Sounds like Porky was a big hit at the nursing home.
