Trooper was rescued from a backyard breeder yesterday. He is quite shy, but he does enjoy being in the backyard. He was brought to me at work (a vet clinic). Our two teenage volunteers gave him a much needed bath. Then the vet took a look at him and couldn't believe the condition of his mouth. He has a serious bacterial infection and will probably lose all of his teeth. The vet said she had never seen such a bad case. She immediately put him on antibiotics and will do some blood work before his dental appointment. I feel so sorry for him. His mouth must hurt him so much. I am so glad I didn't go to pick him up from the breeder because what I would have said isn't nice. :cussing:
Here's a picture of Trooper (the girls at the clinic gave him the name).
Wow! I'm so glad Trooper is out of the hands of that nasty BYB. GRRRRRRR! My Maddie came from one of those. She was kept in a cage most of her first 1.5 years. She is still VERY shy. GOOD FOR TROOPER! Kisses to the new boy on the block.
Could he BE cuter??? Now we have Sarge, Lt. Looie and Trooper. Para-doggeties! Best of luck with him. I hope the BYB is prosecuted for animal cruelty. Bless you.
Dang Annie - I wish you HAD gone to get him.....they would have deserved everything you would have said to them !!!!!
He is just adorable.....between him and Mack's new foster...both Black and Tans....I am keeping a tight reign on myself.... HA !
You are so good to these kids - and he will love your backyard !!!!
Off subject - when Patty came through to Nova Scotia - were you and she able to hook up? I forgot to ask her -
Rays to Trooper, that the antibiotics help - is he able to eat soft food anyway?
Thanks so much for taking in the little guy to help get him healthy and to find a great forever home.
Bless you Annie for rescuing Trooper! When we rescued Looie, in May, he not only had teeth problems but also because the BYB didn't take care of his ears, he only has one ear drum, due to all the infections that went untreated.! This backyard breeder got the book thrown at her.....it's now a felony to abuse an animal in Washington State! Give Trooper a hug and belly rub from us and keep us posted on how he is doing.
He looks like a sweetie pie! I am sure he will flourish under your care...and especially with his fur family to show him a good example, lol!
Here's to Trooper and his new home, may it be forever! :headbang: :headbang:
He is breathtaking! :love10: i wish the backyard breeder would get just desserts! Maybe in the next life. :angry4:
What a sweetie! I am so glad he is with you now. Grrrrr to the breeder.
What a cutie! Glad he's safe and with you now.
my my you are a shy one in the phot, but I'm sure you'll come out of your shell now you are safe.
