Gretchen and Cajsa both used the pee pads yesterday while I was gone to work. It was so nice to not have to clean up messes! Gretchen got released to run around for a while and Did so very gleefully. She did end up pooping in the livingroom when she was out of my sight for 2 seconds, but at least it wasn't pee. Progress is progress...lol She was/is also starting to calm down some and will even sit on command. That has been a great big help. Gretchen deserves tons of loves for all the progress she has made towards becoming a good doggie member of the house!
On the Cajsa front she actually walked across the kitchen (about 6 feet) to her regular water dish last night. IT's less than 2 weeks post op and she can walk, although admittedly it's like a drunken sailor! She got to her water dish and stood to drink then sat down so I carried her back to her bed and she rested and watched everything from there the rest of the evening. Her short walk was approved by the vet but she's not supposed to do it very often and no more than 10 minutes for the next 6 weeks. After that she will have more leeway with excercise and will be getting longer walks and such to help regain her strength. Things are good. :)
That's really good news on both your girls! I'll do a little happy dance, too. :blob7:
Great news on all fronts April! :apls: :apls: :apls: :apls: :apls:
That is excellent news.....guess they discussed it while they were both confined and figured that was the best way to please mommy :thumb:
If Gretchen did ok being penned up - probably not a bad idea until she is completly reliable.
Great news for both of them !!!!
I am happy and it's nice to be able to brag on the girls. I felt like all I was doing was complaining for the last little bit. They really are sweet and I love them dearly, but I don't deal with extreme stress very well sometimes.

April - give yourself some credit too - you have had to deal with a LOT of stuff in the last couple months and you DID !!!! :apls: :apls: :apls: :apls: :apls:
All right!!! Big thumbs up for your two girls!
Oh happy day! That's marvelous, April.....on both doggy fronts.
I think I will continue to confine them to the smaller area while I'm gone although when Cajsa gets the "all clear" they may get confined together instead of seperately like now.
:thumb: :thumb: Thumbs up and the rays will continue to come! Sarge & Looie, Dave & Dee
YAY!!! Good to hear progress on all fronts. April, you've had a TON of stress to deal with. And you made it through - congrats to all of you.
I agree, you have done a wonderful job April, you have a lot on your plate. It is paying off though thank goodness things are finally going better on all fronts!
Great news on all fronts! It is a long road back to recovery, but she will be back to normal sooner than you think. I know just what you are talking about when you said she walks like a drunken sailor. Lily had the same walk for a while. : )
Good news! Glad things are going well! Kiss all three of your girls for me!
I just got bac k today (well last night) from Bishop, CA -two days early hubby got real sick... That is awesome news about the girls!!!!!! :hello2: as always keeping our :xfinger: for a speedy recovery and speedy housetraining!
This morning as I was getting ready to leave Cajsa peed and pooped on her pad then sat and bark/cried at me to come see! It was so funny, but she got a treat out of it and a new pad put down before I left. She's doing really well. Gretchne will go on the pads if she's confined but won't go on them if she is loose but has access to them. She prefers various rugs or the carpet. :( So she gets confined until she goes then she's released!
Good job Cajsa !!!! That is too cute that she wanted mommy to come see !!!
All you can do is to keep working with Gretchen - sounds like a good start though !
I laughed when I saw what it was. Cajsa was acting like Elf when she potties in the potty! It's really too funny.
Gretch will get it. She's just being stubborn. Of course niether of them will go on the pads if David is around or they think he's around. They will cry at him and he will take them to potty and they stand there looking at him so he doesn't believe they potty on the pads! I just say "they do when you're not here" and go on.
