Hi everyone, we are in a pretty good routine at our new house. We don't follow mom around the house anymore, we are more interested in laying in the sun that pours in those big windows!
We even go into our pen real good in the morning before mom has to leave for work. Of course those frozen cottage cheese and peanut butter stuffed marrow bones she gives us are a good incentive. When mom gets home we RUSH outside and go potty real quick. Then its inside for a cookie, then outside again for a loooooong walk in the woods. Well, that happens if our pet moose isn't in the area. I guess we're living in that show Northern Exposure, where moose walk down the streets, even though that show wasn't really shot in Alaska.
Mom is getting less crazy as she settles into her new routine in the house, but we think she'd be a lot less crazy if our other house would sell. She said something to our papa about dinner being the "pasta du jour", she's been doing some creative cooking with what's in the pantry and freezer so none of the double house payment checks bounce.
Papa said something about getting a new realtor and mom jumped on it. I guess our contract doesn't expire until May 19th., but another realtor graciously took us on and will be prepared to takeover the selling of our house promptly at midnight on May 19th. They're already scheduled to look at our old house next week, and make a plan. This gives mom hope so she's not so worried.
Our weather has been really nice, and us dogs just love being outside sniffing all the new smells at our new place as things thaw. Alex even found something good to roll in on our walk a couple days ago. Mom yelled at him to stop though.
Mom was real happy to see light behind the mountains this morning at 4am, and the sun is staying up late, its still light out at 10pm. THIS is why people put up with the long dark winters in Alaska, we get the long days in the summer. Mom did buy herself an eye mask to wear when she goes to bed. All those windows make it pretty bright in there, and the sun sets out the bedroom window, and she isn't about to put up curtains. No way. She loves all her windows and as she says often "bringing the outdoors in!" We do our best at bringing the outdoors in on our muddy paws after our walks.
By the way, mom says those eye masks really work!
"They" are predicting a hot summer this year, and there's a lot of fire danger, so papa has begun taking out the trees close to the house so we have a fire break. It would really put mom over the edge if her house caught on fire.
Guess what, we are getting skinny! Less treats and more walks outside seem to be doing the trick! We are all getting waists again!

Patty, I bet those sunsets in the bedroom are just breathtaking! Good luck with the new realtor. I hope that your old place sells quickly....maybe with the approaching warm weather, more people will be wanting to buy.
