Full Name: Islay Enya de Golage is my pedigree name BUTÂ
Islay Spencer de Rosselló is my postie name if anyone sends me a packet, bone or anything...... :thumb:
Everyone Calls Me: Islay, (guapa, sweetie-pie, little Princess, angelkin, snugglebug...)
Birthday: 11th September 2003
Gotcha Day: 9th January 2004 â€" My Dad´s birthday!
Who I live with: Andrea & Miguel (hoomum and hoodad) and my dwarf wire teckel brother, Red Donut de Golage, Red for short (he´s quite looooooong though…)
Hometown: Altea, Provincia de Alicante, Spain. That´s right on the seafront overlooking the sunny Mediterranean and great for chasing seagulls along the beach too. We speak English and Spanish! Hoomum is a Scot and Hoodad is MallorquÃn - my furry Mum and Dad are Italian and German. I see my Italian grandpuppy because he lives here too.
Weight: just under 4kg or just under 8 lbs
Neck size: 24cm  or 9.5"
Height ground to chestbone: 10cm or 4"
Length from base of neck to tailbase: 45cm or 17.5"
Height from ground top of head:35cm  or 13.5"
Height from ground to belly:17cm  or 7"Â
Hair Color: Mahogany
Eye Color: Dark Chocolate
Coat type: Long and silky mahogany with black ear trims….
Favorite Person: Mum errrm…… Dad,….errrrrmmm Mum, well, both really. Or does Red count?
Favorite Toy: Hide-a- Squirrel, Egg-babies and balls.
Best treat: Salmon biscuits and Pigs ears.
Worst torture (nails, ears, butt, teeth etc): I´m great about all those things. HATE being chased by big dogs and HATE noisy, grabbing children who pull my hair too.
Where I sleep at night: In Chilly-Dog bed or on Mum, Dad, Grampy, Nana…or if all else fails, on top of Red!
Favourite pastime: pulling Red´s beard till he opens his mouth and licking his tongue then making him chase me. Playing with squirrels.
I am a hunter, yes or no: Definitely! Love chasing rabbits, squirrels and anything furry. Red and I gang up on them in the woods. These piccies are of me in the mountains hunting wild boar (jabalÃ) with Red...
What I do when Hoomans are away: check every 5 minutes if they´re back, sleep with one eye open in our look-out crate by the front door.
Story about me that my Hoomans would like to share: Islay and Red have adored each other from first sight and he´s shared bowl, bed and bones with her from day one. Our shy little princess has blossomed into a sweet and sassy little lady who literally brings grown men to their knees when they meet her. Every day with her is a blessing and I´m absolutely convinced she´s an angel in disguise.
:angel13:
I can absolutely see why grown men drop to their knees !!! You are just gorgeous and a wonderful Dog of the Day !!!

Hi there Ellie!
We´re only "free" when we walk in the mountains up along the coast every day - our favourite 8km walk - Mum & Dad do 8km along the path - we do 200km up and down the rocks and everywhere sniffing and chasing partridge, squirrels, birds, mice and everything else too! We´re absolutely never let off on the seafront near the road or anywhere with cars.
Mum here: don´t worry Ruth, the walk is on a nature reserve and no cars are allowed - just have to be careful they don´t go down the cliff or up the mountain too far - they wear a laser warning light which bleeps S.O.S. all the time as well as microchip, name-tag, emergency "barrel" vet info etc. they come running to the sound of the ultrasound whistle immediately, no matter what as they get a mini-treat when they arrive back!
We´re well known by residents and tourists from all over the place who always ask what the little red lights runnning around the mountain are......
Ellie is welcome to come and train and play with us anytime!

What a pretty girl! Great DOD info. I think the Mediterranean is beautiful and I got to spend a little (too little) time in Palma a couple of years ago.

Hi Nikki
Palma? Miguel was born there and we married in the Bellver castle up on the rocks above Palma - I was based on Mallorca for 15 years and lived in Pollensa/Formentor.
We both miss the island - it´s much drier here and too hot for me...but you´re welcome back any time to visit - dachsies included.

Thanks April, give our super-hugs to brave little Cajsa, please.
No extra treats, Mum´s real stingy with them, I´ll never get any feminine curves in this household...I´ve scored tons of cuddles though, and Red too. We´ll work on Dad later - he's a softie..

Thanks, Janey,
don´t want to wish ill to your kitty - but can you resist so long before getting a teckel (dachsie) to keep the wonderpug pup company? Maybe all three would love each other..

Thanks Kari!
We come because we have had loads and loads of practice - and prizes for coming too when we were very little. Actually Mum thinks we just come because we love her.....
Loads of extra snuggles so far, promise of a shared pigs ears later..could be worse!
WOW!!! What a PURDY GRRRRRRL you are, Islay. You enjoy your day, y'hear? (SNUGGLES from Dolly, Madison and Sandi)

It's very difficult to hold off! I check the rescue sites on a regular basis and those sweet faces are hard to resist. Poor kitty, though, went through puppydom with Albert and has always been very patient with him (he's almost six years old now and she is almost 18) so I don't know if I could do it to her again. Besides, my condo association only allows two pets per household so no go for now.
Islay, you are a lovely Spanish princess! Sounds like great fun on your long hikes! I hope you get special treats today!
Islay~~ what a be-u-tee-ful doxie girrl you are! Loved your DOD bio and you sure are purty! Sarge and Looie send kisses and hugs and so do Mom and Pop (Dee & Dave).
Gorgeous girl, gorgeous photos, and love your info! Congratulations, Islay on being the "Spanish Princess" Dog of the Day! :thumb:
What a beautiful little grrl you are. I remember when you went to Scotland for Christmas and had the picture in the snow taken. I'm sure that is just a vague memory as you bask in the warm Mediterranean sun. I hope you enjoyed your Day!!

Thanks Uncle Mike for remembering me. We went to Scotland this year for Christmas too and I got to ice-skate too but I looked funny ´cos Mum made me wear my coat and it cramps my style....I said it was my coat and not the whisky I slurped from Dad´s glass, but I don´t know they believed me.
How´s my hero, Clifford? Seems ages since I saw a photo to add to my pinboard....he´s right up there with the men I admire..
Glad to hear I´m not the only one who does a good "nose job" in the middle of the night!
Love to you both, we´re just back from the mountain walk, it was really, really hot. Mum says we´ll have to start going early morning soon - I´m ´llergic to early mornings.
OK I'm officially in love. What a DOLL!!! She is just precious and very photogenic.
She looks like a sweetie too.
