April just called me. She is on her way to Cincinnati right now to a neurosurgeon that can get Cajsa in right away.
Cajsa went completely down about 8 hours ago, but does have deep pain sensation.
Please pray and send rays. I will update as soon as I hear from April again, or April might post herself if she is able.
I was so afraid this was going to happen. You always hope against hope that they will go the other way and be just fine like so many times in the past. Sending rays and prayers in full force. April - you are such a loving mommy and I know you have been watching her like a hawk - you caught it early and I am sure she will be just fine. We will all be waiting for a report (thanks Krista for letting us know). Would you PM me April's phone number?
Hang in there Cajsa - smoochies sweet girl !
Krista - how far is she having to travel ?
should be about an hour and a half to a 2 hour drive for her I would think.
I had a feeling she was heading this way... lots of prayers coming from VA!!
Jen & Crew
Many many rays on the way for Cajsa.
This is a season of miracles and it sounds like she is in good hands. I will be praying that this surgeon is able to help your girl April. Hang in there....I know how difficult it is to have a furkid that sick and hurting. Just hang on to the fact that there is tremendous power in love. Tremendous.
Hugs....
Albert the Wonderpug and I will be sending good thoughts and positive energy your way.
Rays and prayers on the way full force for Cajsa.
I am so sorry April!! We are praying for you and sending rays full force!!
Oh dear! We always hope it won't come to surgery but now it has and I'm hoping the very best for our little Cajsa.
Rays to Cajsa from Kelly,Blusky&Manny in Illinois!
April just called me. They've been at that vet's they were sent to for 2 hours and Cajsa has not been seen yet.
She is going to call the place where Roscoe had his surgery now and see if they can do better. The center we went to should not be more than 25 minutes away from where they are now.
Please pray and send thoughts that Cajsa gets seen quickly!
Sending Tons of PPPPPP's  that Cajsa will be seen soon and get better very soon. Sending HHHHHH's :comfort: for April to help her through this.
Merion & The ZZ's
Hang in there Cajsa we are sending our rays your way. Please keep us updated on how she & April are doing. We are  for you all the way from (not so) Sunny San Diego
  and rays on the way for Cajsa! I also know that has to be a stressful drive anyway - I only have a 5 minute drive to my vet and I know how long it seemed when Gretl went down...
Having just gone thru this with Lily, I certainly understand how April is feeling. I had to drive Lily 2 hours to the surgeon as well. Many prayers and healing rays coming from South Texas for April and her baby, Cajsa. :comfort: :ambulance:  :bandaid:
OMG how horrible to have an emergency like this and no one with the time to see her at the vet...I've been there, it is a nightmare, poor April. Thanks so much for the updates Krista, I was shocked to log on and read the news. Rays and prayers coming from here too.
We've been watching Cajsa's story and had so hoped it wouldn't come to this. Rays and prayers coming from central Iowa.

Oh no - so frustrating....she must be beside herself......Sure hope hubby was home to watch the other 2 girls....
Thanks for the update Krista - I am praying that she is able to get into the other clinic quickly. Please let her know we are all thinking of her.
OMG! Po' doggie. April must be about ready to hit the roof. Prayers for Casja, and April, too.
Oh goodness! Lots of rays and prayers headed to Casja and April!
I just talked to April again. The vet center who did Roscoe's surgery told them to come right over. As soon as they arrived, The techs took Cajsa back and got her comfortable with pain meds and fluid IV's, while they were waiting for the surgeon.
They were doing a myelogram and if all looked as they anticipated, the vets would take her straight into surgery. April believes Cajsa is probably in surgery right now. She is waiting to hear from the vets.
She and David are together and Morgan is with them. Say a prayer that Morgan can continue to be kept a happy camper. She has had a very long day for a toddler.
April and the whole family really appreciate the rays and prayers! Keep them coming!
Oh I am so glad they are all together. Did Gretchen come with them? If not, I bet she is wondering where everyone is. Thank heavens they were able to see her right away. - thank you for being able to give them the information !!!! Thanks so much for keeping us posted ! Sending rays in full force for the whole family !!! I am trying to remember how long Roscoe was in the hospital ????
Mega rays and prayers are heading to Cajsa and the family from Eastern Washington! Dee, Dave, Sarge & Looie

Sending rays for a positive outcome.
Sending mega rays Cajsa's way!
I just got home. Boy howdy! It's been a long day, but Cajsa is out of surgery and doing well. I'm so tired as is David and Elf is asleep already. Gretchen stayed home and was very happy to see us again.
The surgeon called to let us know that she had to take "quite a bit" of disc material out and had to go in on both the right and left sides to do it. Cajsa came out of the anesthesia quickly and smoothly. She is currently snuggled in a warm air cushion (both top and bottom so she's surrounded with warmth). We will get an update tomorrow morning around 11 so I can post again then. Dr. S said several times that Cajsa was the sweetest dog who just loved on everyone while she was being examined. Batdog showed off her ears and won them all over! I miss the little booger, but I know she's in a better place to heal for now. I'm hoping for a good Easter with all "the pack" back together again!
Thank you all for the rays, prayers, good thoughts, affirmations, etc. I've really appreciated them. DAvid read all of the posts here with me and was touched by the outpouring of everyone. It does mean quite a bit to both of us. Thank you all! :love7: :grouphug:
I just got your voice mail and was getting on to post...you beat me to it !!! GO to bed and get a good nights sleep ! SO glad that the surgery went well.....baby goat girl will be so glad to see you when you are able to visit her. Sending Texas rays and prayers and lots of hugs :comfort:

Glad the surgery went well! Mega rays coming Cajsa's way for a speedy recovery! Get a good nights sleep!
APRIL ---------
Oh my gosh..this is one of the HUGE downfalls of not being able to frequent the boards. I am so sorry for your 4 legged baby. Please let me know if I can help at all, having been there with Solomon. Hugs to you and smootches to Elf and especially Cajsa..... Please e-mail me the details. My heart goes out to you. Will keep you in my prayers!
Sending Healing Rays to Cajsa!! :sunny: Hope she has 100% recovery!! :comfort:
Well thank goodness the surgery was done and went well.
I just love that clinic. Even with the hour drive I have there, if they did regular vet care and not just surgical or emergency cases, I'd go there over other vets we've been to.
We'll keep the prayers and rays coming that Cajsa makes a speedy and full recovery.
April, I am so glad to hear that Cajsa is doing well. I hope that she has a full recovery. If you need anything, let me know as I have just been thru this with Lily. More rays and prayers coming from Texas. Bat girl will be home and on the mend really soon.
Glad to hear the worst is over. Each day will get better than the one before until this is a vague nightmare. OK, "vague" might be pushing it a little, but at least it will be a past nightmare.
Barb - Roscoe had surgery on a Tuesday afternoon. We visited him Tuesday night, and Wednesday night and then we took him home on Thursday night.
The surgery center likes to send them home as soon as possible, as long as the dogs are stable and the owner proves themselves to able to express the dog's bladder, if nececessary. They just feel they recover better at home - it also helps keep some of the cost down for the owners.
As long as I've been hanging around the old and new version of this doxie board, the numbers of back injuries are just getting too numerous to count. So many have to go through this. So, we are with you April ... Rayzzz for Cajsa's speedy recovery.
Glad to hear about the outcome of surgery, and more rays and , plus :comfort: that she will be home and recover quickly. (I am sure her "bat girl" look was a riot!)
This just makes my heart ache. Glad sweet little bat-dog is on to the recovery stage. Rest, recharge, and give her our best. Lots of Boulder rayz on the way. April, you did a great job acting quickly.
Rays coming from northern IL for Cajsa and her family. I know first hand the relief when they come out of surgery and you get a thumbs up. Clifford got to stay an extra day for his lumbar surgery as the 3rd day fell on Sunday. I needed that extra day of sleep after being up until 2 am.
I've talked to the vet's office twice today, but wasn't able to go there to visit. It's about 90 minutes away and everyone including Elf had a really long day yesterday. Not to mention all the schoolwork I had to catch up on. Anyway, She is doing well and wagging her tail at everyone. As of 6:30 this evening she hadn't tried to move her legs and had no measurable motor control (except for the wagging tail!) She is eating and drinking well although she isn't peeing on her own either. It had been less that 24 hours since her surgery though so it's all good. She did growl at one of the techs who opened her cage so she's feeling spunky at least. Other than that she's been an angel according to the surgeon and techs I've spoken with. They just laughed about her growling at them saying she probably thought someone was going to do something else to her!
She was off her pain meds and resting comfortably so I'm taking that as a good sign that she will regain function soon. As a general rule she hasn't been much for pain meds to be honest. I'll talk to the vet again tomorrow morning around 11 probably so I'm hoping we can come and get her then. If not David will come back this week to go get her with me. Rays and prayers are appreciated! She is doing quite well from all accounts and I"m sure it's because of the powerful wiener board rays!
On a side note, David asked if the "wiener moms and dads" were going to stage a "poop-in" at the original vets office who made us wait so long. I laughed and told him we just might! He is as appreciative of your support as I am and I want you all to know that!
I am so glad to hear that she is doing well. Growling sounds like a good sign to me. I'm sure the vet and the techs don't mind hearing growling in cases like this. I think the "poop-in" could be a first for sure. Bet it would get the point across. I'm still amazed that they would make a dog who obviously needs to be seen as quickly as possible wait for that long. What was their response when you told them you were going elsewhere, or did you even tell them? I think I may have just high-tailed it out the door. Give Elf lots of kisses from me for being such a good girl yesterday. That is really tough for one her age.
When I had my sergery I was scared because I was alone and the people woke me up to stick me with needles. I was not happy. Then I went home with mom and dad and I layed on the couch and got better every day. I am sorry Cajsa had to have sergery like me. Its no fun to have your hair shaved. But it is good that she has a Mom like you. I bet she would like some ice cream when she comes home.
xoxoxo
King Sol
p.s. I kin send you stinky baby dog if it would help
P.P.s. Mom sends smooootches to Elf
I am so glad to hear that things are going well! Hopefully she will regain function soon! Rays still coming your way!
Whew! So glad to hear our little wiener is on the mend. Still sending load of rays and  to get the ol' pooper motion.....er........in motion. Snuggles to Cajsa!
It sounds very encouraging !!! I know you all must be exhausted. On top of the long day - just the stress of the situation would wipe you out. Poop - In - YOU BET !!!! I too, can't believe they would sit there and watch you holding her in pain for several hours.......POOP on them big time !!! Thank heavens for Krista's information and for them taking her right away. Sending rays and prayers in full force.....I just know that goat girl is going to be back to herself very quickly !!! Thanks for the updates and Happy Easter !
