Title: Walking funny in the sun
Post by: Beth on April 13, 2006, 12:55:25 PM
If we're outside in the sun for a while like we were today, Chilie will start to walk as if she's going down in the rear.  And it only happens when it's warm outside.  As soon as I notice her doing this, I bring her inside, and she immediately starts walking just fine again. Anyone else's pupper do this?  Could this be a potential problem?  She has her yearly checkup soon, so I'm going to bring it up to the vet and see what he says.  Just thought I'd check here on the board to see if anyone else has experienced this with their dog.

I think that's odd. I don't know that I'd wait until the vet appointment, honestly, if it's happened more than once. It could be something like heat intolerance or exercise intolerance--which are signs of other disorders (such as diabetes, for instance). Does she continue the behavior once she's inside?

Hmmmmm.....I have never noticed that either of mine do that.....  Let us know what the vet says !!!

Brandy says - sometimes it IS to hot for a Princess to walk......  :thumb:

Sure hope it is nothing - let us know !  Has she always done this?

Hey Auntie Beth!
I don't like my back feet to get hot on the concrete when it is warm outside.  My front feet don't seem to be so sensitive, but I like to walk slow and drag my butt when the ground is hot.  Smootches to Chile, and Lara too.
