Hi all!
Thanks so much for all your posts regarding the crate. Great ideas and I think I am just going to put her in kitchen with a little baby gate. (Any bets on how long it will take her to escape?!) Im guessing 3 hours....
I just noticed something funny about her coat the last few days, she used to be bright and shiny red and her coat now seems to be turning a dull almost blonde color. Is this from the time of year or could it be that she will change colors?
THanks!
Paula
If she escapes with one gate then put another one on top.
Have you changed her food or anything? That can cause a change in coat and is the first thing to come to mind. How old is she again? It might be an "adult" coat coming in? Not too sure about that one though.
She will be a year this month. Maybe it is her new big girl coat, didnt think of that!
When I got my spring hair cut last week the groomer must have used OLD siczirs .......... 'cause they left GRAY hairs on my widdle body!

Coat changes are not uncommon in dachshies. My Rudy-angel truly had a coat of many colors. He was a red, but had a lot of black interspersed in his fur as well as blonde hairs in the scruff of his neck. As a pup, his legs had more red than his trunk. Over time, his coat evened out in color. As he got older, his color began to change again and the markings on his legs began to be more distinct than his trunk.
Even a clear red like Max has had several coat changes over his lifetime. Looking back at pictures, his coat has gone from tan to red several times. His scruff, interestingly, now bears a startling resemblance to Rudy's scruff with blonde and black hairs.
Yes Oliver who is a mahogany red long hair changes colour when he ie shedding.
