I was not sure how to add to my earlier post. Sorry about that.
We went to pick up Toby and were told that we could not do so for the next seven days. Evidently they have to keep him there for a total of ten days because of the bite and the potential for rabies. This makes no sense to me at all as he is up to date on everything of course, but it is the policy. When I spoke with them earlier I may have misunderstood the procedure. We are given 48 hours in which we must let them know that we wish to reclaim Toby from his quarantine. I have done that. Still, he must stay for another seven days.
The good news is they are going to let me see him and they are taking very good care of him. It also gives me a little more time to prepare. I have rescheduled the appointment with our vet for next wednesday and he will come home on tuesday. Nothing has changed. Just the length of time that he has to be quarantined.
So I just wanted to let you know what is happening. I appreciate all of your thoughts during this time. Even those who do not agree with my decision have been kind and believe me, I do value the opinions...no matter what they are.
