Title: That one was for Rudy!
Post by: David C. on March 13, 2006, 08:21:55 PM
We enjoyed some unusually warm weather in Maryland today.  The temperature hit 85 degrees.   We had the entire family: myself, Margie, Jessica & Max in the backyard.   Our neighbor had Sampson, the 90 lb lab/shep mix out in their backyard.   She brought Sampson over to the fence so Jessica could get a better look at him.

Sampson was always Rudy's nemesis, at least in Rudy's mind anyway.   Sampson really is a sweet dog, but he would just drive Rudy bonkers.   Even after four years, and some "mellowing" with age, Rudy just would not accept Sampson.  Max would occasionally bark at Sampson, but he typically just ignored him.

So, when Sampson approached the fence, Max got his hackles up and charged the fence and barked.  Sampson, who is 9 times Max's weight and less than one-third of Max's age, ran away in fear!   It was almost as if Max was telling Sampson "That one was for Rudy!"
