Title: Greenie Biscuits
Post by: Julie on March 01, 2006, 01:59:38 PM
With all of the bad news about greenies, I stopped giving them to my two.  I hated to stop them because they LOVE them, but I just can't take the chance.  When I was at Petsmart the other day, we found Greenie biscuits.  They have slivers of greenies in them and are shaped like the greenies.  My dogs just love them, and I was wondering if anyone else has tried them yet.

With all the bad reports (and I've been reading them for over 3 years now) anything greenie related throws up a red flag for me.  Evidently they form masses that plug the digestive tract.  Who knows whether the fragments in the biscuits will form a clog as well. I'm not going to risk it.

I too am staying away from anything Greenie related.  I do not trust that these biscuts would not cause the choking or clog the digestive tract of my dog.  My dog liked the taste too, but as soon as I heard all the bad things that had happened to other dogs, I decided it wasnt worth the risk.

I spoke with my vet about the Biscuits Julie,  and he said he would advise against them for smaller dogs with small digestive systems.

I haven't seen these, but we are pretty much staying away from all greenies...

I think that there are plenty of good alternatives available, at least for the sake of peace of mind.
