Whose doggies just live to go fer walks and whose hounds find that walks are NOT fun at all?
I have one of each. Maddie LOVES walkies and will drive us CRAZY with her squeaking and carrying on. Sometimes if we can't just drop everything for the Princess, a bully stick will keep her busy but this girl LOVES walks. Dolly is a whole different story. Now she gets all excited to get her "jinglies" on (collar and tags) and loves the IDEA of a walk but the actual walk seems to scare her. She will go down the steps and trot as far as the end of the driveway but then she puts on the brakes and WILL NOT MOVE. We end up taking her back to the house and just taking the Madderoo. She hates big dogs and I think she's just so fearful that she won't go beyond her own backyard.
Let's hear from you. Walkies or NO WAY on walkies.
Penny loves to go for walks!! :walk2: Although the funny thing is that she hates to put on her harness and leash. She will run away from me and I have to chase her down to get them on, but as soon as we start our walk she is perfectly fine... :doah:
Tofu and Siggy give a big :thumb: for walkies. They love them.
Willy, Alex and Misty all love to go for walks. Willy, however, sees the collars and leashes come out and he goes and hides in his kennel. I don't know why. But once I get him to come out and get his harness on, he is fine. Alex sits quietly while I put his harness on, but Misty is like trying to harness a full blown spaz attack.
Oliver lives for route marches, and its hard to keep up, Madam AKA Amy loves the thought but after you get out and walking wants home. The only thing we find is she gets bored of the same walk all the time, but as I usually walk them alone I always choose the one with no surprises. Up bush of leash she is a little flash.

Olver here did someone mention WALK spelling it does not help as I can spell even KLAW
George and Gracie give walks a big :thumb:
They go crazy at the sight of their harnesses and leashes!
They are ready, willing and able for walks 24/7.
"I like walkies - I take Momma for her walk every chance I get! We sometimes go a mile a day, and I love to do it in 12 minutes or less!" (Pretty good for those short little legs, huh?) At the dog park, she gives the big dogs a run for their money. Ours is not separated into different sizes, and one time a big dog stepped on her niece Mocha's tail. Brekke was so ferocious after Mocha squealed, that big dog ran back to his momma - who was howling with laughter that my little diva had demanded he apologize on the spot! :2funny:
Hallie also gives paws up for her daily 30 mn walkies. That is never enough though, she also has to go to class several times a week and go shopping with Mom. She's a social butterfly and has her social schedule to adhere to!

Manny is like some of the others when he hears the collar and leash rattle he knows what's about to happen next and Blusky on the other hand knows as well but the minute he hears a strange noise forget it because it scares him to no end since he's partially blind.
Well the good and wonderful news for Blusky is that when we take Manny for a walk this spring Blusky can go with and ride in his stroller he got for Christmas, and if Manny gets tired there's plenty of room for him.
I'm hoping to post a picture of the both of them in the stroller soon, and also one of the both of them and myself so people will know who they're talking to when they see a messege from Kelly. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Rudy loved walks and he could walk all day. In his latter years, his endurance began to suffer and he was good for about a mile.
Max has never been a great walker. He used to like to lag behind. Or, when he had enough, he'd just dig his paws in. These days, we've pretty much given up on walking him. I've only been able to get one or two houses up the block before he's decided he's had enough. We pretty much just let him roam around the backyard. Sometimes he does a loop, sometimes he just does his business and comes back in.
Both dogs always did better when I put them in a "foreign" environment, such as taking them to a park. With all the new smells, they seemed to enjoy walking a lot more. When both were much younger, I used to take them on the Billy Goat Trail on the C&O Canal. People were amazed that I actually took my dachsies back there, but both did a pretty good job of scrambling over the trail.
Ozzy loves to go walking. We live near both a middle and a high school, and there's always activities going on to investigate.
Once we were walking along the football practice field and one player yelled, "Awesome dog!" Of course, the girls all make a fuss over him! I'll bet that is one reason Ozzy loves to head towards the schools.
Sgt & Libby LOVE to goferawalk. They are always so excited we have to hold them still to get their harnesses on. They both always start off strong pulling at the end of the leash. By the end of the walk, Libby is still going strong, but Sgt starts to tire out. Sometimes Eric ends up carrying him the last stretch of the walk. I did just invest in a leash that has two hooks and a cushioned wrist part. It has made a world of difference in walking them. They have a little space between them, but they stay together and I have a much easier walking the two of them at the same time.
Walkies? Did someone say WALKIE?
Toby and Buelah LOVE walkies.....Oscy ....not so much! LOL.... He loves going out and being carried!
:walk2: :walk2: :walk2: :walk2: I love to walk BUT .... NOT so much in Montana winters .... eLlIe
Sadly, none of mine go for walkies any more. Leopold, who is 14 and a recent amputee and has a lung disease, used to love walkies, but walkies are just too much for him now. Skeeter was never all that big on walkies. She has a grade five heart murmer, so I can take her on slow short walks, but long vigorous walkies are out. Boone has never been on a leash and is terrified of them. He refuses to move when hooked, and sometimes loses bladder control when I snap on a leash.
Actually ZAck goes wild when you get the collar and leash out!!!! Out the front door we go and he oes potty and then heads for the CAR. :2funny: He loves to go for a ride. He is the best copilot and keeps an eye on everything going on around us. But if all else fails he will go for a walk. Once the weather is warmer and nicer we will be going for more walks.
Merion & Zack
Walkies, walkies, walkies - I  LOVE LOVE LOVE them !!!!
Rudy Ivey
Walkies....hmmmmm.....I like to go once I am out there....but sometimes mama has to dig me out of the bed to go !!! Hee Hee...she calls me her snuggle bunny.
Brandy Ivey
Barb here - they really both enjoy going.....Rudy is waiting at the front door and sometimes Brandy goes and gets on the big bed - then flips over for a belly rub before we go !!! We have several standard routes, and then a few other routes every once in a while.....There is always plenty to smell and doggies to bark at through fences which ever route we choose !!!!
Walks? Porky LOVES them more than anything! Actually, Porky would rather run. I don't think I've seen him actually walk on a walk. :2funny: He runs as fast as his little legs will carry him! Momma and Daddy don't mind though since Porky is a miniature his jogging is equivalent to a brisk walk for them. Unfortunately, he hasn't been on a "walk" for quite some time. It has been too cold or too windy. Since he refuses to wear his sweaters he gets too cold if we are out longer than a few minutes in the cold. And he barks like crazy at that darn wind! As soon as spring is here, you can bet we'll spend hours outside "walking" each day!
