I hope you are being good and at least not letting yourself get stepped on today. You are going to have lots of fun at the new house and you are going to love looking out all those windows. Just remember you can run through them to catch the critters-you can only bark and dream about catching them.
Patty-I hope the start of the move-in goes well. I know you are really excited and I am so happy for you. It is always great to see people fulfull their dreams and this has been so fun to watch. I can't wait for an update and pictures.
Thanks Teresa. I had to stick around the old place because we were on the Saturday Tour of Homes today. My nephew Derek (the builders son) offered to help us today. Derek is almost 14, he was born one week after Domingo. So Derek and Dan cleaned out the little shop, barn and our crawl space here. I kept seeing them hauling away all kinds of junk, good grief, how did it all fit??? They got a lot accomplished today. Its a big nasty job out of the way. Tomorrow I will move some boxes. And our builder Jeff is still busy putting siding up on the house, its transforming in a big way now.
Found out my dad needs knee replacement surgery on one knee. So they will not be up here in May like they usually are. But they will be up later in the summer. We had hoped to toast my dad at our big house warming party, but even though he won't be here, we will put a good word for him anyway. He has helped us so much on our forty acres.
Thank you for being excited about our dream. It has been fun sharing it with everyone. Our realtor wants pictures of the new place to put on the page they have on their website for our builder/brother-in-law Jeff. We'd be honored to have our house featured there.
I think Dan got very worn out moving stuff today, I am in the kitchen and I can hear him snoring. I'll have to get him to roll over on his side or I will never get to sleep!
Woo Hoo - can't wait to hear what else you get moved today (Sunday !). Any nibbles on the house yesterday? Sounds like Dan and Derek got a lot done. Keep telling yourself, once it is over there - it is DONE !!!! Are you going to sleep there tonight? Or just move and put away small stuff ? Can't wait to see the pictures of your dream home on the builders site !!! Let us know the link when it is there ! Hope you take pictures today so you can show us what all you get moved today ! :hello2:
I was wondering the same thing, Barb. I think we should all place bets on when the first night there will be. It is great to move in slowly, but this is sooooo exciting I have a feeling the first night will be sooner than Patty is planning!
I was also wondering about nibbles on the old house
No nibbles on the old house yet, but each week we get closer to people getting out and house-hunting. Dan got all the junk from the barn, his little shop and the crawl space moved over. Sunday he took our two deck rocking chairs over and put them in the living room. Sunday afternoon we took the dogs over. I bought flowers and champagne and brought them over. The dogs got to wander around outside until we spotted the two moose. So we went inside and toasted our house! Not the official toast, but a toast. The official toast happens on our first night. Not sure when that will be yet. The dogs were so funny, running around and their toenails clicking and echoing throughout the house. It won't be quiet with three weener dogs over there!!! They sure enjoyed checking out their new house.
