Title: Chip needs Rays
Post by: mcsam12 on February 15, 2006, 06:52:22 AM
Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since we have posted, but our world is crazy.  Well I will get right to the point our little Chip got sick two days ago, and we thought he had a seizure, so we took him to the vet.  They did all kinds of test and his blood work is all abnormal and they were running more test.  Well yesterday he wouldn't eat or drink he would just lay on my dest at work with his blankie and sleep.  Then yesterday afternoon he quit using his back legs.  The vet says there does not appear to be any ruptured disc, and the blood work is pointing toward a cancer or leukemia.  They kept him over night and I just called to check on him and our favorite nurse Kathy says he is just not Chip.  Of course my husband is on a business trip, and my best friend Sue (of Sol and Kirby) is on a cruise, and I feel really alone with this.  Please say a prayer and send some rays for my special little guy, he is my heart. Thanks

Thank you so much.  I just went to see him and he was soooooooooooo happy to see his mom.  I think if all they are going to do is keep him in the crate and give him pain medicine I can do that at home.  My vets office is only open till 12 today, and I don't like the idea that he would be there by himself.

Well I just got off the phone with the vet and we had some encouraging news.  Chips disc did not rupture, just has swelling around it and he seems to be using it a bit today, and the vet thinks that he has a slight case of epolepsy and not cancer or leukemia, which is better news thank goodness.  He can be treated for that.  He still will not get to come home until Monday or tuesday, but that is ok as long as he gets better.

That IS encouraging !!!  If there is swelling - I am sure the crate rest will do him a lot of good.....at least you can go visit him.....give him some smoochies from me !!!  Keep the updates coming !

Cajsa is sending snuggles for him.  She is the snuggle queen at the moment and I'm not really sure why.  Hmmm...maybe she ahs a connection with Chipster and that's why she's being snuggly?
