Wiener Writings

Thirteen years ago today, Feb. 7, 1993, I brought Max home to join Rudy.   Max belonged to one of my friends, and I had known him since he was a puppy.  I used to babysit Max when they went on vacation.   Their daughter developed severe asthma and they needed to get rid of all their pets.  My initial plan was for me to foster Max until another home could be found.  Needless to say, that plan went out the window fairly quickly, and 13 years later, Max is still here.

In another 20 days, Max will have his 17th birthday, so February is quite the month for our most senior of weiners.

Let me be the first to wish Max and the rest of the C's a Happy Gotcha Day!  He is such a sweet little man, we sure can understand how he became a permanent member of the family.

Happy gotcha day to Max.  Getting close to the big 17 is quite a run.  These seniors touch our hearts in a very special way.  Keep on truckin',  Max (or whatever the dachshund equivalent of truckin' is).

Happy Gotcha Day Max!!!! And almost to 17. He is really an inspiration. My first doxie made it to 17 and in pretty good health. Give Max a gotcha day belly rub for us!
