Title: Just got a chance to update!
Post by: April on January 31, 2006, 10:10:47 AM
Cajsa went to the vet last Friday for a check up.  Well, she got the all clear and doesn't need to go back until July.  (they do checkups every 6 months)  The only bad thing was that she's over 12 pounds!  She weighed in at an impressive 12.5 pounds when she should be 11!  So, she gets to go on a D-I-E-T.
She is in good shape with her tummy and no other things were found to be any trouble.  She is just a fatty-boomba!

I'm happy to hear that Cajsa got a clean bill of health!  Now its diet time.  My three all weighed two pounds more than they should have at their last checkup, so don't feel bad, just feed more green beans and less cookies.  I wonder if that diet would work for me too......

I need to follow that diet I think, although I"d have to eat an awful lot of beans!

Good news on Cajsa!
My three started Weight Watchers with me at the beginning of the year.    I do the diet and they watch.
Actually I suspect that Toby-boy may need a D I E T before long as well!  He is turning into a regular little butterball!

LOL...I dont want to lose weight, but I'd like to stop eating so much junk food.  I recently re-discovered Oreos...it has been bad, very bad!  lol  I ate a whole bag of double stuff Oreos by myself one week while David was gone...Not a good thing to do!  So, I intend to eat healthier right along with Cajsa!

Eversince I found out that Oreo middles are made from Lard and sugar I refuse to eat them.  Give me peanut butter cookies any day.

That's great news on Cajsa! Glad her tummy has been behaving. Now just to keep goat dog from getting into things she shouldn't LOL. I tease Hallie that I am going to get a muzzle for her on our walks...the things that girl can find to put into her mouth!

Actually it's not lard, it's vegetable shortning just like in most cake icings..."buttercream" icing is generally not truly made from butter either, just shortning like crisco or something.  So you can once again enjoy Oreos!  lol  Although at least peanut butter cookies have a little bit of protein (from the nuts).

Libby is going on that diet with Cajsa.  She weighed in at 12.5 yesterday and the vet wants her down 2 lbs.  Maybe we will have to create a Doxie Diet Support group!  Glad to hear that Cajsa is doing well.

Congrats on Cajsa's good report from the vet.  Maybe this might be an idea. I don't buy doggy "cookies" but my girls don't know this.....shhhhhh.  When they go out, they get a reward when they come in.  All I do is say "Ya wanna cookie?"  Zoom!  In they come.  Their "cookie" is simply a piece of their kibble (currently Innova) and they THINK they're getting a real treat and it's great for weight control and doesn't cost a fortune.

i tried that with Sam & Eddie, but they got wise to it.  Now I give them a piece of kitty kibble and they are satisfied.

I actually give her a few pieces of her morning ration or maybe a few of Elf's O's (like all natural cheerios) as her treat when I leave for work.  I don't actually give her many treats although when David is home on the weekends he has to give her a bite of something everytime he eats!
