Title: Augustine going full bore
Post by: PattyInAK on January 31, 2006, 10:08:04 AM
Woooohooooo!  I love this.
My poor sister got stranded in Seattle last night on her way home from visiting the folks in Yuma, AZ.  She in the air on her way to Alaska now, and will land in about 90 minutes if they don't have to land somewhere else due to ash fall.  Right now there isn't any ash fall in the Anchorage area.  But the volcano is only 180 miles away, and that could change.  The flight my sister is on is supposed to go on to Fairbanks after landing in Anchorage.  It would be just my sister's luck to be diverted directly to Fairbanks because they can't land in Anchorage.  I hope she is seeing this as an adventure.  That will teach her to go to a sunny, 75-degree place for a week while the rest of us are enduring minus 20-degrees!!!  ;o}

Is he stuck in Alaska?
My sister made it home from Seattle today around 10am.
Volcano has gotten quiet for now but I guess spewed a lot of ash into the atmosphere.

Actually he works for Kenai Community Care Center.  It's a juvinille treatment facility.  He is able to randomly check in on the houses at any time of day or night since he is there for two weeks straight.
