Amy threw a load of clothes in the dryer, and unknowingly left an ink pen in the apron she wears while working. Her clothes are ruined, which is bad enough, but she's convinced she is costing us a new dryer.
Any ideas on how to get blue ink off the inside of a dryer? I'm thinking using old rags and simply wiping the ink up. I know hairspray will take ink off of clothing, will that work on a hard surface?
I did assure her that, even if we have to buy a new dryer, everything is OK. It was a mistake.
Mindy the hairspray should work, my aunt used it to get ink off her marble topped table.
I would be very careful with hairspray inside a dryer though. It is flamable so make sure it is wiped off well and ventilated before using it. Would rubbing alcohol work? It evaporates faster so that might be a better option...
Try one of the new Mr. Clean magic erasers. Those things are awesome. Hairspray is usally good in porous (sp) materials, but might not do the trick in the dryer. Maybe try regular old Spray n Wash too.
