I got some money for Christmas and went to Best Buy and was looking for a new movie and decided on The Ugly Dachshund.The boys(Blusky&Manny)and I can't wait to watch it.
I found it at Walmart last year and was so excited - I love it !
The movie is great, but after watching it try and get hold of the book, it is well better, and writen by G.B Stern. She must have had dachies to write the way she did.

Schatzi loves to watch the Ugly Dachshund. I do too, but it is really fun to watch her watching it. She always seems to notice anything on tv that has dogs in it, even if she is sound asleep under the covers when it comes on.
Roberta now has me looking for the book. Has anyone read Redstripe and other Dachshund Tales? I saw it on Amazon. Also there is a children's book called "There's a Dachshund in my Bed" that the reviewer says is a must for Doxie owners. I may be doing some serious book buying!
I had it on videotape and wore it out - I was sure glad when the dvd came out! I agree with Roberta - the book is great - but don't expect it to be like the movie! I also like "Flash the Dash", "Three Little Dachshunds" (also known originally as "Pumpkin, Ginger, and Spice"), "Pretzel", "Halloweener", "Santa's New Suit" - Santa has a dachsie!, "The Long Good Boy" by Carol Lea Benjamin, and "Hot Dog" by Laurien Berenson. There are some other good ones out there that are not dachsies, but good mysteries that have dogs - like Rita Mae Brown's, Elizabeth Lanier's, and I have one somewhere about a mutated rabies virus with a Welsh Corgi - maybe Nancy or Muriel remember it or know the author?

I actually liked the book better as it seemed to me to be what a dachies life in would be as a large clan.
