Title: Pictures without glowing eyes!
Post by: Jenny G on August 24, 2005, 12:11:56 PM
Any suggestions for taking pictures of my puppers without having their eyes glowing like they are denomic (although I think Berman may be the devil himself sometimes )? I don't have a digital camera (yet).  Does turning off the flash make a difference?  I have so many good pictures, but the glowing eyes can be scary!

Also, what the heck is this emoticon? :2funny:

Some digital cameras have a special setting to avoid this.  If you are using a film camera, you are sort of stuck unless you scan the pic and work on it in Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or an equivalent graphics program.  These programs have special settings to remove "red-eye".

I believe the emoticon you asked about is the equivalient of "LOL".

Sorry, I forgot to mention - if you use fast enough film to avoid flash, you won't get red-eye.

Thanks, Rich.  I usually use 400 speed so maybe I should try a faster one.  I've tried the red eye reduction and it works sometimes.  Sometimes, though, it makes my puppers look like the have human eyes - creepy!
