My mini needs help

My 2 year old miniature doxie (nova) has been bloating after eating and not acting like himself. He gets shakey, whiny, pants, and has diarrhea for about a week now. He wont drink water at all so I put it in his food. I've taken him to the vet and an xray showed no blockage but lots of gas, the vet has him on gastrointestinal food. He ran a blood panel too that showed nothing that would cause this. Any ideas?

I have an update Nova is doing better, the vet would like to check him for a liver shunt, he will be getting that done Monday.
