I took three of my furkids to the vet Wednesday, after fasting since Tuesday evening - yes, even I - they look so pitiful when I eat and they don't get to eat. Bastian got water and his breakfast after I had the others loaded in the car. Brekke had her ALT level rechecked, and Robinton and Rowan had their adenosine phosphotase (?) levels rechecked - all are liver function enzymes, as I understand it. Levels were higher than at teeth-cleanings last month. They are now on Denamarin once a day, an hour before their dinners. (That's $65 per dog for 30 doses - love my furkids, though, so it's worth it.)

I hope it's only for a short time, and they get back to their good health.  I know what you mean when you say they are worth it!!!

Nick eats outside if he cannot give them a bit as they stare....................he has been known to eat out rather than face them.
Hope all is well in the future.................are they all up by the same amount approx, could it be a food thing.
Amy is on another antibiotic round, as her bladder does not empty completely with the tumour, when on it she refuses her tinned low fat food, she will eat the dry.
go figure, so the last time she was on the antibiotic her urea was up due to a higher meat diet. But we still have her and everyday is a blessing. Her cancer meds are $200 for a hundred  capsules, plus $2 a tablet for prozac but we cut that in 4, but as you say it all adds up.

It didn't occur to me until they'd been on the meds for 4 days, that since these are the same three that were hospitalized a bit over a year ago, that maybe it has something to do with the gopher bait that was probably the reason for their issues then?  I wonder what that might do to a dachsie's liver readings?  Roberta, I only know that it's Brekke's ALT levels, and (sp) adenosine phosphotase levels on Robinton and Rowan.  I need to ask Dr. Betts about the possible side effects of gopher bait secondary ingestion...
