about how long do ?

Was wondering about how long the dogs with cervical herniated disk stay on the pain medications ? are they normally crated for 6weeks ?
a lady from Doberman talk is going to lend me a wire crate think Patches will be happier & cooler in it. Thanks for all the rays.

Porky's back injury is mid-back, so I'm not sure about the cervical injuries.  He was on meds for 2 weeks constantly, and then we tapered it down to every other day, and now he only gets a dose on his bad days.   He was on strict crate rest for about 2 weeks, and then we slowly worked on getting him out.  He has been doing really great and I get him to walk in the tub at least once a week.   He hates the tub walking, but it does seem to help.  Good Luck!
