OK so I have no idea what colour this boy is or might end up, all I know is that he is gorgeous! His mum is a shaded red and his dad is a black and tan. He looks kind of like a mini german shepherd - oh please don't let me have bought a big dog by accident LOL.

Here are a few pictures, take a look and tell me what you think??? I found a colour online that I hadn't heard of in a smooth before and the picture was a bit like Charlie, it was a smooth coated wild boar colour but it did say that shaded reds can be confused as this.

He is a real little sweetie and Ivy seems to be enjoying mothering him xxx

That last picture is now my background.  Too too adorable!

I think you have a keeper there Gail.  He's a bonnie prince...

His trunk and legs look very similar to my Rudy-angel's coloring.   The facial markings are different.   If he follows Rudy's lead, his markings and colors will smooth out to a mahogany color, and will likely change over the years, become more distinct again as he ages.   He will probably look different in different lighting situations, fluorescent light, sunlight and incadescent lighting will bring out different aspects of his mixed coat.

Aw what a sweetie!!!  He sure is adorable.  As to his color I'm not sure, but my sister had a mini smooth who's father was black and tan and mother was a red, and they called her a sable.  When she was a puppy she looked a lot like Charlie, but when she was an adult she was more a dark redish color.  Don't know if that's what Charlie is, but thought I'd throw that out and see what you think.
Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

Yes he does look very different in various light sources. He's an interesting pup for certain. A pure little bundle of love.

He really does remind me of Rudy-angel...right down to the black tips of his ears.
