We had our appointment for Porky's dental today and when we got to the vet's office there were already 5 cars in the lot before it opened!!  Poor Doc Wilson has his hands full with some major trauma and emergencies before he can even get Porky in.  We are hoping for just one lost tooth this year and the removal of one tumor I saw in his tiny mouth.   I am so thankful, my baby was one of the less critical arriving at the vet today!!   This one little boy and his mom brought in their dog who was attacked by a raccoon this morning, if the little boy wouldn't have shot the raccoon, his dog would probably not have made it.  So Porky has to wait for that dog to have emergency surgery to try and save the eye and ear.  Broke my heart to see that poor dog and his boy.  The boy super upset so Porky gave him some sweet licks in the waiting room trying to comfort him.   I'm glad I have the whole day off work today because there is no way I could concentrate at work today wondering how my baby will do today.   Hopefully there are no hidden tumors like last time.    :xfinger:

Plus it gives me time to rest today as I have been VERY sick for the last week.  When I got to the health food store to get Porky's food, I'm stocking up on some supplements for myself so I can kick this sinus infection, double ear infection, and upper respiratory.  The Mega-antibiotics haven't done much yet for me except make me sleepy and itchy! :BangHead: Porky and I have lots of cuddles and rest time planned for this weekend.

What a sad morning to start with.  Hopefully both the patient and brave little boy are recovering well.

We really hope you get better soon and are freed from the rotten respiratory problems. Apart from meds. as appropriate , I usually do tons of hot inhalations, steam with rosemary or thyme and eucalyptus leaves & orange or lemon peel and ginger help - same mixture in a hot bath is comforting too.

Porky needs his Mum in finest form and so do we.  We are keeping pawsies crossed that our brave little Porky has a good dental and no bad news at all.  So typical of him to do his best to make the little boy feel better even though he is in a rough position himself. He deserves a medal and so do you.

Porky came through his dental with flying colors!  He did lose two back teeth, but never had any visible pain or problems from it.  They did also find one tumor (the one I saw) and we are awaiting results on it.  Our vet is pretty confident that it is NOT cancerous this time as it was not deeply rooted or embedded in the cheek/lip.  The vessel supply to it was not adequate to sustain a viable tumor either.  All great news!!  Porky is getting spoiled with some EVO Venison canned food until tomorrow.  He can eat his hard food without any problem, but we are being extra cautious with those stitiches until they fully dissolve.

As for the raccoon attacked dog, the poor thing lost his eye and part of his ear, but had no other severe injuries.  I'm sure with his little boy watching over him he'll get better really quickly.

Oh, and Porky met his twin at the vet!!   There was another piebald doxie named Peppy that looks so much like Porky I did a double take!!  Their only difference is Peppy has a perfect round brown spot in the middle of his back.  They even weigh the exact same!!!   Their personalities are vastly different though, Peppy lacks the confident swagger that Porky has.   Our vet did say they seemed to get a long well though and he kept having to scold them to not stick their nose in the other's kennel.

Thank you for the Porky update!  I hope YOU feel better soon, also.  Good boy, Porky, for comforting that little boy.  Porky is a kind soul.  Peppy and Porky.  Even their names are similar.  Of course we know our Porky has the swagger to beat all.  Kisses to our sweet boy and hope you have a warm and snuggly winter.
